
Damage and loss during hydro-meteorological disasters have increased notoriously over the last 15 years. While increased exposure and vulnerability may explain a good part of this increase, the frequency, intensity and impact of water- and temperature-related
hazards are projected to increase significantly in the future with human-induced global climate change, and the resulting changing global and local averages in temperature and rainfall.
