http://democracynow.org – As extreme cold temperatures blast the eastern third of the United States, the fossil fuel industry has seen a series of disasters in less than a week. On Wednesday, an explosion at an ExxonMobil refinery south of Los Angeles rocked the surrounding area with the equivalent of a 1.4-magnitude earthquake. The blast in California happened as oil tank cars from a derailed train remained on fire Wednesday in West Virginia, two days after the accident. The derailment forced the evacuation of two towns and destroyed a house. The derailment in West Virginia happened just two days after another oil train derailment in Ontario, Canada, which also left rail cars burning for days. We are joined by Stephen Kretzmann, executive director of Oil Change International. “Climate policy and energy policy are not usually discussed together in this country,” Kretzmann says. “Climate change means that we need to transition away from fossil fuels, sooner rather than later.”

First they said "ice age," then "global warming," then "climate change"…
Global cooling is over publicize now. There's barely 3 peer-reviewed articles on global cooling from the 70s, with the majority of the articles for the time being about ice melt and potential ways to collect data from the ice sheets. Not to mention that climate science and environmental science at that time were just emerging. Global warming is climate change, and climate change is happening. And just because temperatures are dropping in one part of the world, doesn't mean they're not rising in rest of the world. The fact is that The jetstream is becoming more and more erratic, temperatures at the polls are dropping, and CO2 content is rising. This in turn makes for very erratic weather. It may be well below freezing on the East Coast but on the West Coast we're seen a very early spring.
Save Our Planet through Sharing, Justice and Peace for all.
The fossil fuel industry isn't responsible for for global warming. Its the people who demand they're products and services who are responsible. That's pretty much everyone in this world. If we really want to fix the problem we should look inward and reduce consumption in our lives and stop blaming others for the problem. Drive less, put on a sweater instead of turning on the heater, make sure your fridge is at a proper temperature… there's so much everyone can do instead of sitting around complaining about the people who give us what we want.

This is the only legitimate American news network I know. Keep it up!
To many officials and leaders that I dont trust at all are talking about and have been mentioning "climate change" and "global warming" way too much past years. That's what made me start seeing that maybe I'm being fooled on this one to. Repeat a lie enough and they will believe it-style….
This is such biased so called reporting. If it gets hot; "Climate Change". If it gets cold; "Climate Change" These two should stop driving, cooking and using plastics. Rail cars would not explode if the Keystone Pipelines was approved. Liberal Media Bias at the nastiest!!
