April 22, also Earth Day, seemed an appropriate day to debut DJK Custom Homes’ second net zero energy home in Naperville. The uniquely designed modern farmhouse produces more energy onsite than it uses – thus the title, “net zero.”
It’s all accomplished through the use of efficient building tools and advanced technologies, like carefully placed solar panels, Wi-Fi enabled air control, LED lighting throughout the home, and much more.
But don’t just take our word for it; you’re invited to take a look.
“It’s going to be open Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., just come out. It’s 628 Knoch Knolls Road in Naperville and we look forward to seeing people out here. Come out, take a look at the home and see what we’ve created here,” said Owner and President of DJK Custom Homes, Dan Kittilsen.
There are also fun features like a home theater and state of the art kitchen.
The extra energy produced by the home is sold back to the utility company, for use in other homes.
