THE Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum addressed the media on the issues emanating from the High-Level Pacific Island Dialogue Building Resilience to Natural Disasters and Climate Change.
He was accompanied by Changyong Rhee from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Asian Development Bank’s director general Xianbin Yao and Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) senior vice president, Yasushi Kanzaki.
The A-G said Fiji was working with the financial institutions not only to fund climate resilient infrastructure but is also tapping into the technical expertise existing within these organisations.
Mr Rhee highlighted the need to partner with the private sector on many of the climate resilient projects.
The meeting was held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
