
FAO LOG Panel Discussion and Student Debate on Integrating Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation for Resilience in the Agriculture Sectors
FAO Geneva organized a Panel Discussion on Integrating Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation for Resilience in the Agriculture Sectors followed by a Student Debate to mark the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction as well as to raise public awareness on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation and the synergies between the two approaches for resilient agriculture sectors.
This event was organized by FAO Geneva in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), the Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Students in the debate were drawn from Bern University of Applied Sciences (HAFL) and the Graduate Institute of International & Development Studies (IHEID), and were provided with the proposition that βThat there will be no sustainable food security without tackling both climate and disaster risks together!β.
