The government’s official committee on climate change says there must be urgent and radical changes to everything from farming practices to consumer behaviour – saying far more agricultural land must be used to plant trees and woodland.

There's no point having a law to get to net zero in 30 years without a clear plan on how to get there. Year by year.
And every ton of CO2 we emit counts. If we don't start cutting immediately then it doesn't matter what we do in the 2040s. We will have lost our planet.
We use a massive 77% of agricultural land to farm livestock and produce it's feed. That produces a mere 17% of calories and 37% of protein.
If we cut our meat intake in half and move to a more plant-based diet, we could easily free up and rewild 40% of our farmland, have more food than we need and finally start rebuilding the natural systems that we have systematically destroyed for centuries.

Our current meat consumption is entirely unsustainable. But the good news is that not eating meat is a trivial choice. You just buy different things at the shops, learn a few new recipes and your done. You can do it literally overnight. It's the most readily available way to slash our emissions available to us.
Plus, it's cheaper and healthier!! It's a no brainier 👍
