Opposition leader Anthony Albanese is set to launch his first major policy today, pushing for Australia to have net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Under a Labor government, the nation will go carbon natural and power stations would not be federally funded.
Mr Albanese will deliver the announcement in Melbourne but without outlining specifics on how to achieve the goal.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has expressed he will not sign up to a net zero target without details on its impact on jobs.
