We need to tackle energy and thermal efficiencies of ALL buildings, ZERO waste and consumption first. I don't believe centralised power run by the same fossil fuel companies subsidised by the public after kicking out small competitors is a solution at all. Energy production is polishing turds when consumption is never dealt with. Power distribution is inefficient and should be produced and stored locally with voltage regulator devices on the grids to reduce input voltage and wastage as heat dissipation.
We need to stop 5G spyware tracking small cells and massive loads of HACKABLE IOT consuming massive amounts of energy thanks to Ohms Law. With wasted energy as heat dissipation. Requiring low power passive fibre networks to begin with. Requiring street trees cut down to stop interference, exposing surfaces, reducing shade and increasing HEAT. So they can track and hack people with it. And so criminals can turn the millions of forgotten and unmaintained IOT gimmicks into botnets to hack us back with. That is not Net Zero let alone technology. That is an authoritarian scam.

It looks like a good alternative mode of travel for your short trips. Not only does it give a bit of exercise, but it is zero carbon emissions. There are other, less expensive alternatives, I've seen electric trikes for well under $1,000.
