Dozens have died after a flood ripped through the Himalayan area of Chamoli in north India.
Many are still missing as workers were caught unaware and buried in tunnels in the valley.
But what caused the glacier to crack and ultimately bring destruction to Uttarakhand?

Why would anyone in their right mind build a dam at the foot of the tall snow-capped mountains? With global warming, this dam is doomed from the beginning. Will they rebuild the dam or give it up and find a better location? Maybe should've asked China for help. Never mind, this is India. Poor lives lost; RIP.

Those that wanted these dams built were warned many, many times that this exact scenario could play out. Greed, money, arrogance and a lack of common sense killed these people. Three years on and no one is being held accountable.
