Mr Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog will be releasing a report on ‘Transforming to a net-zero emissions energy system’ on 23 March 2021 at 02:00 pm (IST). The report, jointly developed by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Shell, is the first comprehensive assessment of a Net-Zero Emissions (NZE) strategy for India’s energy sector.
In this study, a NZE scenario has been developed to examine whether adequate opportunities exist to fully decarbonise the energy sector and highlight the areas where India’s energy sector does not have enough choices for full decarbonisation by 2050.
