  1. It's sad that only bad news get any air time or get posted online. No one knows that acid rains and the ozone hole are enviromental problems that humanity actually managed to solve…

  2. it was never a possibility. to create acid rain would require permanently altering the chemical composition of earth's atmoshphere and become part of the water cycle. something that no amount of aerosolized pollution or ash clouds could ever accomplish. what goes up must come down and stay down..

  3. Acid rain was a big problem until my brother told one of the guys mixing up the acid to fill the pond with water first, and then dump the tank cars of acid into the water. That way it mixes slowly and doesn’t produce a lot of heat. Filling the pond with acid first. and spraying the water on it produces a LOT of heat and half of the mixture boils away. That’s what was causing the acid rain and wasting a lot of company profits. We are talking about junior high school science class chemistry intro information.

  4. Companies didn’t want to spend more to be better but other companies who make more suffered and fought back so they didn’t have to pay more themselves. Sounds like capitalism to me.

  5. The amount of things I had to worry about as a child are staggering. I know it's cliche to say, but kids today don't know how easy they have it.

I'll never forget drills in school when the Cold War was still a thing. Crawling under our desks every morning after the pledge of allegiance as if that was going to do anything if a nuke actually hit.

  6. This is why I'm not worried about climate change. We will find solutions or adapt to a changing world. It will not be the disaster some are predicting. The US band Europe are already on the road to recovery. it's China and India that have the largest impact.

  7. Don't see any acid rain here as such but do see certain pollies getting nice hand outs from lobbyist to not do any pollution reduction. But corruption is only a name we give it if it's a country we don't like it's called lobbyist and political donations when it's you're side
