Crooked believes that we need a better conversation about politics, culture, and the world around us—one that doesn’t just focus on what’s broken, but what we can do to fix it. At a time when it’s increasingly easy to feel cynical or hopeless, former Obama staffers Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor have created a place where people can have sane conversations that inform, entertain, and inspire action. In 2017 they started Crooked with Pod Save America—a no-bullshit conversation about politics. Since then, we continue to add shows, voices, and opportunities for activism, because it’s up to all of us to do our part to build a better world. That’s it. End of mission.

Wow, that's not an episode I saw coming 😲 greeting from Germany 😅
Luisa is wonderful. She almost gives me hope. She absolutely makes me miss Germany.
I wish the US was capable of even having a discussion this balanced and intelligent about the climate emergency. We're still allowing special interests to control the narrative even as we watch one disaster after another play out.
We are where we are with climate change and covid 19 because of decades of anti science rhetoric that has come from the right and it shows no signs of slowing down. This must be addressed
Crooked Straw man I’m sure.
I’ll speak for the conservative position.
Climate is changing, let’s adapt to mitigate suffering.
Wake up america! Really i am totally incensed that out media does not address the actual facts..which is absolutely there. The people who own the media in the u.s. suppress the truth..it is unconscionable .still pumping out fossil fuel . Just disgusting because collapse ofvthe environment is within our lifetime if we do NOT stop!!
People are all excited about attacking the climate crisis, until they learn they must change things in their own lives…like their addictions to animal agriculture and junk food, let alone how they use energy
And yet, China is actually doing more on clean energy but barely gets a mention "even in China"? Polite suggestion – mutual respect and recognition builds solidarity.
Imagine my surprise when a person from my Instagram shows up in my YouTube subscriptions 😄
No shit. Visit Bristol. We started centuries ago. (Not all of that city’s history is dark)
Good one Ben! Start from wherever we are. Simple wisdom 🦉
Interesting, informative discussion.
Bolsonaro burns the Amazon and now the Paraná has no water and Argentina cannot move its good on it. Tragedy after tragedy!
Europe where is your FOREST ??
America where is your FOREST ??
Don't push Amazon's or Asian to protect their FOREST.. How much you can pay for their FOREST ?? If you cannot pay the forest protection.. so made your own FOREST..
Who can pay Brazilian people food and country developing so they not touch AMAZON..
It so NAIF.. you push other to become remote place and your country keep industries..
One thumbs down on this video. There’s always one asshole..
💙💙💙
Such a wonderful discussion–informative and hopeful.
The thing that stood out the most, however, is Luisa Neubauer. Educated, engaged and engaging, eloquent, and prepared.
When was the last time YOU saw an American person (from a similar age cohort) with such poise? So calm and well spoken in a public forum of any sort? Have you EVER?

So not to change subjects too much, but the west is burning up and Biden is for all practical purposes is doing nothing. Do not be surprised when the Democrats get shellacked in 2022.
Great interview! Danke Luisa!!!
Thank you for this interview! So nice to see one of the European leading ladies of the climate actions on Crooked Media.
I’m Belgian, I have lived in Germany as a teenager. My youngest sister lives in Berlin with her family. I was surprised that the Germans weren’t better prepared for this disaster. Germans tend to be well-organized and well- prepared, yet, they weren’t. They were also not as well-organized as I expected when it came to the pandemic. In fact, when it comes to vaccination, Belgium has been extremely well-organized and Germany much less so. Usually, we Belgians are crap at organization and the Germans are excellent.
When it came to the floods though, both Germany and Belgium aren’t doing so well at dealing with them. Belgium and Germany were the hardest hit. We have less deaths in Belgium, but the destruction is enormous. We’ve had floods before, but never like this. The power of the water was incredible. It washed away houses, cars, etc.
The irony is that our countries are used to going abroad to provide aid for disasters, and we’re good at that, but we are not prepared at all to deal with this type of disasters in our own country. It was totally unclear here in Belgium who was supposed to do what. They’re starting to get more organized now, but the worst hit area still looks like a warzone.
Other European countries have provided assistance and aid, which was good. I think the whole thing has highlighted that we need a European ‘Civil Defense’ for the entire EU, that can provide aid across Europe for climate disasters. Right now, we have the fires in Southern Europe, mainly Greece, where again, other countries are helping Greece (and also Turkey, though they’re not EU). A coordinated EU effort to establish a ‘civil defense’ and disaster relief force, would make a lot of sense.
This sounds crazy but maybe one of the things we should of used more was nuclear power. In ways a lesser of two evils.
A wise woman. I hope ppl are listening.
Guys, there's a bit of a situation here. Can somebody make Ben a shirt
that says Definitely not Joe Rogan? Some people are getting confused and
I think that would help clear things up.
