Australia should not be following Boris Johnson down the “garden path” of net-zero emissions, according to the Institute of Public Affairs’ John Roskam.
“Overnight we’ve seen Boris Johnson’s approval ratings fall, he’s at war with his Chancellor over exactly this,” Mr Roskam told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“The relevance for Australians is, that the Australian media are barracking for Scott Morrison just to follow Boris Johnson down the garden path.
“Nobody is pointing out in the Australian media that Boris Johnson can go on these frolics because 20 per cent of British electricity is from nuclear power.”

net-zero emissions just means compensation of green energy vs carbonproducing energy. if you put more on both ends you get the same effective net-carbon producing effect.
net-zero emissions is ok but the time span for trying to get it done is way too short. it should be an endeavor over 50 years minimum, so that many different leaders throughout the next 50 years can have a say and input, instead of just what we have now because clearly in many places people don't like their leaders. many places.

Nuclear power is very good and could be very clean IF MANAGED PROPERLY. One classic example is France's fast breeder Phoenix reactor. Instead of being a moron and letting Plutonium become a waste disposal nightmare it is consumed by this reactor. This also makes vastly more efficient use of limited Uranium supplies. There are also novel reactor designs to get rid of other waste, or even use Thorium. The real obstacle is that the same scientifically illiterate idiots who are terrified of covid-19 piss themselves whenever they hear the word nuclear. This irrational fear is why we talk of MRI scanners instead of what should be called NMRI scanners. Hospitals didn't want to frighten the ignorant oiks.
