The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says he finds net-zero “baffling and ridiculous”.
It comes as there is mounting pressure for Australia to commit to net-zero by 2050 and for the Nationals Party to agree to it before the COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.
“But I think the whole of politics in the west has become kind of untethered from reality,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News host Alan Jones.
“If human activity produces certain emissions, you can’t get a zero, net-zero is completely meaningless concept.
“I can see that you want to reduce your emissions and you want production to be as clean possible but so much of policy now is fantasy.”

I'm sure I'm not even touching on most of the issues here… but…Their great idea is to make wealthy nations pay for poor nations to go net zero while wealthy nations cannot even do it? All the while everyone is made to stop using the sources of energy we have and know how to use to heat/light our homes etc, but it is okay to use said energy to build wind turbines, solar panels, and lithium batteries so we can go net zero. All of which must be maintained or replaced and often cannot be recycled, while not being able to make energy if it is not windy, too windy, cloudy or too hot and sunny! HAHAHAHA! We are doomed if we don't stop this nonsense !

Surely by now there ought to be a thriving industry for recycling solar panels & wind turbines after their useful lives, otherwise how are these "renewable"? Climate change is now a Political game with meaningless targets and damaging policies.
Scientists and Engineers are the people who will solve this problem not Politicians.
The Politicians live in a small world similar to a school playground and saving the world is the latest game.
At present Engineers have produced self contained nuclear electrical generators which are manufactured in a factory ready for use.
This is just one realistic way the world can reduce the emission of CO2.
Wind mills are an ancient way of generating power which is variable due to the rise and fall of wind.
Hence it requires a back up system which takes over when there is no wind.
This makes its electricity very expensive.
Politicians have chosen wind as it is visible to voters and Politicians can point to wind mills and say look WE are taking action to save the World.
It is up to us the voters to force Politicians to stop being so destructive by giving us expensive electricity.

Those who want battery power are just making it sound bad so they can cancel the power grid and sell their own technology to every one. including cars etc.
They don’t even have to try to get to net zero by then by scheming their way to get there. Other gangsters have already guaranteed it’ll happen without so much as lifting a finger… You need people to use that energy to actually generate it, or visa-versa…

If you still think climate change, as claimed by the activists, has anything to do with science then you're both a fool, and you know nothing of science, it's all political, and it always has been, it's social pressure groups and politicians abusing science, lying about what the science says, to push social programs and political changes.
Just because you say that science says something doesn't mean it does, just because you claim the science is on your side (everyone says that) doesn't mean it is.
The mounting pressure for net zero is not coming from the people who elected the Government.
The big picture is that China vastly increases its CO2 output and has reliable and affordable energy, while the West struggles to maintain a healthy and comfortable standard of living. The biggest victims will be the poor and the elderly, who are of no concern to the bourgeoise leftists who care nothing about ordinary people.
Missing the point. CO2 does't absorb 90% of infra red radiation – it passes straight through. The war on carbon is baseless. If human action is changing the climate – which itself is questionable – the cause is not carbon dioxide.

Remember the promises that 'electricity would soon be to cheap to meter', l do, therefore you may consider this comment somewhat cynical. If politician's truly expected their promises to be accepted as honest and meaningful, wouldn't they first prioritise and fulfil the requirements of their People's whilst seriously addressing their expectations. Subsequent only to honestly justifying their election promises ought a Government to consider the enactment of additional long-term/detrimental policies. All said policies requiring appropriate and statistically meaningful referendums before their enactment.

And to look to New ways of power production for the Future.
Pay farmers to grow the Fastest growing shrubs / Trees for Bio mass.
Incinerate all household waste & waste Furniture & industrial waste etc to generate Power & hot water to heat Schools & hospitals & other Large buildings.
One incinerator in a town or city could burn Waste, Biomass, Coal or gas Subject to Availability.
1) Generate Electricity.
2) Pass the Steam / Hot water through a Line of Heat Transfer Systems, ( heat Exchangers, )
3) continue to pipe the hot water to heat a School / Hospital etc for Heating, Water Taps & showers etc.
4) pump this water round the circuit via Solar / Wind / Hydro powered pumps ( subject to Area / Climate etc.
5) bring the SAME cooler water back into the Circuit, ( Just as a domestic Central heating Boiler does. & Re-Heat the same water & use again. )
The Furnace / Incinerator would be designed to burn ANY Fuel.
Dispose of waste,
Cut down Trees & burn Bio waste,
Back up with Coal or Gas,
RE- Use all the Heat Generated.
WASTE NOTHING.
VAST Mass Production of Solar panels would Crash the price,
Then Cover every Inch of Roof space with solar panels / solar tiles.
Make them in bulk to be extremely Cheap to buy & install.
