Current NUKE tech takes 10 to 15 years to build if the "green LBQTMI" get out of the way . It's also no financially feasible with current USA French or UK tech . If this Completely "on the take" government " can back Australian tech in NUKE power .. hell yeah we can have it up and running in 5 years . They've been spitting out these this climate crisis nonsense for the last 70 years with fuck all difference from then to now. Human mediated climate change is so unequivocally small in an after changing process that happems whether or not we are here. It's been about one thing and one thing only… money. Big businesses owned by the elite recieving trillion dollar government contracts to produce ultimately unreliable energy sources during times of ever increasing demand that therefore drives up demand and therefore energy costs that ultimately puts us plebs into further loss of economic freedoms and prosperity. All of these so called net zero renewables energy sources are not even renewable given the fact that they rely on the very non renewables they are supposed to replace in order to create and maintain their infrastructures. Where does all the concrete, steel, aluminium, copper, fibre glass, plastics, silicon and precious metals and minerals come from… from being mined out of the ground with heavy excavation equipment and being brought to factories and refineries that all require non renewables and fossil fuels. Nuclear is the only caveat as it is able to indeed provide reliable high base load power in a time of increasing energy demand, thus reducing demand and thus cost and ultimately increasing our economic freedoms which would hinder the wealth accumulation of the rich and theeaten the petrochemical, coal and gas industries which is why we are not talking about nuclear. It all about money and nothing to do with a climate crisis.
No shit. Most of us know this but for some reason, all the fear mongering back in the early works of media is STILL present these days, and it doesn't help that a lot of media coverage doesn't present anything like nuclear power as the solution.

They don't care about net zero. All they want is an excuse to channel tax payers money into their pockets. We will see a lot more mega projects or big push on certain equipments that will only benefit a few, like Matt Hancock's neighbour and his covid test kit contract.
Instead of a huge nuclear power plant, why not a small modular unit similar to submarine or an aircraft carrier. You could put one near every small city and two near every large city.
Nuclear Power plants have always been our only option for clean energy. Hope the World realise this soon.
This rush to net zero by 2050 is suicidal, expensive & unnecessary. Better to look at the cost benefit ratio. We need to accept some warming, adapt to it, & develop new technologies in our own time, instead of this mad rush.
How about this Chris,here in the UK we have an energy crisis that's really going to bite this coming Winter because of the decision to scrap most of our coal fired power stations to cut our CO2 emissions,industry desperately needs cheaper gas prices which have gone through the roof because we now have to buy it in and we dont have enough storage capacity to last more than a few days.
One US company that makes fertiliser here in the UK has warned it will have to shut down without help on gas prices which matters because a by product of the process is CO2,which here in the Uk is used in the medical and food industrie's.
So here in the UK Boris is going to stand up at the climate conference and tell the world to cut their CO2 emissions while providing an American company subsidies to produce CO2..Oh the irony!.
Daily reminder, there is NO such thing as climate change, NONE.
Just remember it will cost trillions of dollars , many many years to build and not just the power plant , the enrichment process plant , and the waste facility . It's not going to be an instant problem solved . Yes nuclear will be all the power we need ,but only if they are small plants built where industry or the most power is needed .community power plants not monster plants owned by monopolies , if we must pay we must have control !
Our biggest chance like everybody else at this stage will rely on SMR (Small Modular Reactors) rather than big nuclear, this would be quicker, more cost-effective, and our BEST CHANCE!!!!
