The government has finally published its plans for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
They include grants of up to five thousand pounds for households to replace boilers with energy efficient heat pumps and subsidies for electric cars.
It’s claimed over 400,000 jobs will be created in the process but critics have warned the plans don’t go far enough

£620 Million + £620 Million + £140 Million + £120 Million = £1.5 Billion. That might sound a lot, but it's chicken feed, in terms of government spending. Compare this to the Tens of Billions of pounds the government spaffed up the wall on procurement of PPE – as a means to put vast sums of public funds into the hands of their friends – donors to the Conservative Party. The same is true of Test and Trace – £37 Billion which went to Deloitte (an accountancy firm) SERCO, etc. – instead of giving Test and Test to the NHS and universities to sort out. Why? Corruption, again, as with the PPE scandal. The government are just paying lip service to environmental matters. If they were a responsible government which was not corrupt, they would have used the money given to private individuals and companies who were already rich , to help with the environment.

The developed countries polluted thousands times more ahead the developing countries. The fair calculation should includes the total amount has been emitted since industrial revolution then figure out how much each country should be allowed to emit PER CAPTIA.

I'm perplexed as to why the UK, a country that omits about 1% of the world's co2, is under this amount of pressure to reach net zero. I'm getting very suspicious that there is another motive behind this. Meanwhile China who contribute about 35% are left largely alone by both our political leaders and the pressure groups.

What is net zero? Its absolute BS that's what it is. They say co2 causes climate change. Ok let's look at the science.
The specific gravity of co2 is 1.592. Which means being heavier than air. How can any scientist explain that a heavier than air gas somehow gets into the atmosphere? IT CAN'T !
Co2 can only fall downward. Its subject to the same laws of gravity and yet the sheeple are still convinced that what the government and mainstream science tells them is true.

Getting to Net Zero by 2050 would cost $9.2 trillion a year globally (McKinsey). That's not going to be good value for money. That's nearly one-tenth of global GDP. That money would be better spent on a myriad of things including educating the fifth of humanity who are illiterate and represent a 7% annual loss to the world's economy. Any country that attempts it will be indebted or impoverished.
Example: For the UK to reach net zero by electrification of its transport fleet and heating system, it will require a tripling (as a minimum) of its current electrical generation capacity among other things. This will essentially require the UK consuming all of the current global supply of copper and other rare metals for the next 25 years. The cost will be unaffordable and the skilled manpower levels unattainable. And that is just to eliminate the 1% of the global CO2 emissions that the UK is responsible for. So times that by 100 for the Earth. 10,000 child slaves in the cobalt mines of the Congo not enough for you? Make it a million. Imagine all the human suffering and environmental damage done from all that resource extraction!
An electric vehicle requires 6 times the mineral input compared to a conventional one, and the carbon cost is greater until you reach 80,000 miles.
Production of all of these minerals has been mastered by China: a totalitarian communist regime that thinks nothing of the mass murder of its own citizens, imagine how much it cares about the rest of us.
And why are we embarking on this great net zero crusade? For what? So someone can virtue signal by driving around in a Tesla.
Maddeningly, there is no climate crisis. The Earth was warmer in the recent and distant past.
the so called green revolution is enough to take us back to the dark ages, so no thanks!
