The UK government presented its path to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, allocating additional funding to electric vehicles, sustainable aviation fuel, and carbon sinks.
Boris Johnson will seek to enlist the support of dozens more leaders in making net-zero commitments and a worldwide commitment to slowing global warming. Johnson positioned his idea as a road map to a more sustainable future.
Funding commitments were £970 mil for the transition to electric vehicles and infrastructure; £3.9 bn for decarbonizing heat and buildings; and £120 mil for the construction of small nuclear reactors.
The UK is attempting to compel global leaders into making plenty of new climate commitments.
