Energy Minister Angus Taylor says there are “opportunities” for many regional communities in the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.
“If you look at critical minerals, you know, export of copper and development of further resources in copper and lithium and nickel and so on,” Mr Taylor told Sky News Australia.
Mr Taylor also added there is “90 million hectares of agricultural land that is a carbon sink and can be a much bigger one”.
“That just means more productive soils, regenerating our soils where they’ve been rundown.
“Huge opportunity for Australia – that’s good for farmers, good for Australia, good for the world.”

Government support WTF as families that own properties are all broke
So if I own a million dung beetles will the gov pay me carbon credits for all the shit they bury, just like Sky News feeds off their shit?
Imagine how many jobs there will be following cattle and sheep around collecting farts, i hope oh&s at least provide sunscreen and a hat if their budget can afford it. Probably not needed though under todays wonderful work place agreements.
Opportunities to become destitute.
