Sky News contributor Jane Marwick says “real people” on the ground “aren’t buying” the net zero by 2050 target, which the Morrison government is taking to the COP26 conference in Glasgow.
“If the Coalition think that conservative voters, that their base, will vote for them or that the votes will drift back to them off the back of this, I think they’re sorely mistaken,” she told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
Ms Marwick said she is hearing many people say the Coalition needs a “clean out” following the net zero commitment.
“I think this is a massive mistake for the Coalition,” she said.

Nobody can predict what 2050 will be like. Everything that dies turns to carbon, ergo emitting carbon dioxide in the process: trees, plants animals and fish and humans. 7 billion humans all exhale carbon dioxide. How, therefore, can there be net zero emissions at any stage of life?
Morrison won't be around at the next election so he does not have to explain anything. I think he has a death wish about not being PM and his wish is going to come about.
Interesting how all these environmentalists some how seem to have quite large carbon foot prints. They also enlarge their carbon foot prints while simultaneously preaching about going green and saving the planet to the population of the world. Almost none of them live a minimalist life style and are massive consumers directly or indirectly, so yeah no hypocrisy. Why don't all these governments pressure China as they emit more than twice the amount of greenhouse gases than the U.S. if they lowered emissions equivalent to the 3rd- 7th emitters in the world, but China would still be ~ equal to the U.S. in emissions and would be probably a more better strategy at lowering emissions. Then again it is unlikely China would listen as they do their own thing and the rest of the world follows as they have no choice as the leaders don't have the political will.

The UK should have agreed to dropping Carbon based emissions by a small percentage not 100% until China and others agreed the same.
