In an interview for BBC Radio 4’s ’39 Ways to Save the Planet’, the Terminator star criticises countries for not doing more to tackle pollution.

The CO2 Greenhouse Effect: Basic Physics
There's a common belief that increasing CO2 levels in the atmosphere leads to more global warming.
However, this idea is challenged by some scientists and the basic laws of physics: Beer's â Lambertâs Law. A study of this by H. Hug from about 50 years ago using FTIR spectroscopy supports this view. Michel van Biezen also has a series of 4-minute YouTube lectures, Astronomy and the Atmosphere, that provide easily understandable information on this topic.
The absorption of infrared heat from the Earthâs surface by CO2 is most effective at a specific wavelength (14.97 micrometers). This absorption reaches a maximum, or becomes saturated, at relatively low CO2 levels (less than 100 parts per million) just meters from the earthâs surface. Beyond this concentration, adding more CO2 doesnât significantly increase heat absorption because all the infrared (IR) radiation that CO2 can absorb is already being fully absorbed close to the Earthâs surface. This accounts for about 10 degrees Celsius of basic Greenhouse warming.
The speculation that CO2 can re-emit absorbed IR radiation into the upper atmosphere and cause further warming from CO2 conflicts with Beerâs â Lambertâs Law and with the spectroscopy data that confirms the end point to absorption. Virtually all of the heat that CO2 can absorb is already accomplished. Other wavelengths of CO2 absorption, near 2, 3, and 4 micrometers, and even in the proposed wider band of 14.8 to 16 micrometers, excluding 14.97 of course, contribute very little to overall absorption.
Given these points, the focus on increasing CO2 levels and their catastrophic potential is greatly overemphasized. Instead, redirecting efforts to other effects CO2 might have, and investing in nuclear energy development would be a more effective use of resources.

The word climate change was used because in addition to global warming, weather became more extreme. We get more rainfall and stronger storms. According to the principles of meteorology, warm air always hold more water vapor than cold air. Heat up the air and there is more sea water evaporation and more water vapor in our atmosphere since 1850 when coal burning to make electric power became prolific. Higher air temperature keeps more water in the form of vapor and clouds and cold air forces the humidity to be lower, the water rains out of the atmosphere. Consequently, we get these super storms and more powerful and larger hurricanes. The word climate change is more precise than global warming, yet it is the warming air that will result in our polar ice caps melting if we don't change our power source to non fossil fuels. We can also remove the carbon dioxide with carbon scrubbers and carbon capture. This will be a necessity in our future because most of our major cities are near the water and large portion of our civilization will be lost.

Long story short – The average global surface temperature has already breached the 1.5 degrees C mark and is hovering between 1.6 to 2 degrees C, 4230 gigatons of CO2 alone in our atmosphere, Other greenhouse gases concentrations have also increased, Glaciers melting at an unprecedented rate, The AMOC and Gulf Stream currents have slowed down almost shut down, Earth tilt has increased by 31.5 feet outwards hence days are longer melting more ice, Earths trajectory and angular momentum have also changed as a result, Multiple asteroids on earth's path, Moon drifting away from earth more longer days, Earth's inner core is rotating in reverse and the earth's rotation has slowed down, back to back earthquakes, typhoons, Hurricanes, pineapple express, cloud Bursts, landslides, Tornadoes, flash floods, sea level rise, species going extinct, mutation in human body – male hormone slowly disappearing, forest fires, microplastics in human brain, you name it.
