  1. Me living at 600m above sea level watching as millions of people fleeing Africa drown in the mediterranean sea be like 😐
(I have been completely desensitized to what is essentially a genocide)

  2. Glad I'm not the only one who's getting tired of people saying "we have to do something" and then not doing anything. Also, you gotta love how the fires in Australia started in the Federated States of Micronesia and no one cared but when they hit a majority-white, "western" country, suddenly they were world news. No one will learn.

  3. Obviously the only sensible solution is for each one to buy a boat and create a huge nomadic fleet nation that survives by fishing and or piracy, it gonna be neat!

  4. Who knew a global capitalist system that treats our planet’s complex ecosystem with finite resources like an infinite growth money printing machine would allow the destruction of our planet in the name of profits for Fossil Fuel companies??? We need world socialist organizing now! Even if the revolution looks impossible now, we must remember Gramsci’s famous saying “Pessimism of the intellect, optimism of the will”. If we organize now and start winning socialist reforms, we might eventually be legitimized enough to achieve state power.

  5. the only big country that even looked like they were making plans to radically shift was China, and even their plan for peaked emissions looked too late and banked on every other country doing their part. meanwhile, you have Europe getting ready to burn coal again because of natgas prices spiking, and the US SCOTUS getting ready to dismantle the EPA so the accelerator's just slammed to the floor.

  6. I was debating some dude and they keep saying that under communism there wouldn't be any incentive to stop climate change but under capitalism "companies wouldn't do business with polluting companies", yes, they were that dumb

  7. The reason most countries still use fossil fuel is because they don't have the technology or manufacturing capabilities to completely switch to green energy. 2/3 of the worlds nations are broke 2nd and 3rd world ghettos run by western or eastern back puppets / warlords. 99% of African countries, 90% of Middle eastern nations, 80% of Latin America and 80% of Asiatic nation are without nuclear power plants and green energy plants.

  8. Remember July or August there was a huge heatwave in Canada and northwest US, well it turns out there is a point where the temperature and humidity get so high that your body loses its hability to regulate it's own temperature, now this heatwave in canada didn't quite reach this point, but still something like an estimated 500 old people died because of the heatwave, this is just a peak into what will happen in people living in equatorial climates, where there will be certain times of the year where it won't be possible to live on a non air-conditioned environment without risking death

  9. BE, have you ever thought of doing a response to Kraut’s Chomsky video? Much of the video mostly consisted of him accusing Chomsky of genocide denial by taking a stance against the NATO interventions in the former Yugoslavia, would be really interesting to see your response.

  10. Living in the Philippines I'm already experiencing the devastating effects of climate change, last year my province got hit by 3 consecutive typhoons in just a month and we're still experiencing regular blackouts every week to this day. Add to that the current pandemic, life is just harder than it is 10 years ago.

  11. I think the actual figure is probably closer and within 3-4 degree rise by this century. 2.7c sounds very unrealistic with feedback loops/tipping points and our inability as a whole to leave fossil fuels in the ground along with stopping infinite growth and consumption.

  12. Look at Sillicon Valley. They continue to sell the lie that they are liberating humanity, while behind the scenes they discuss escape plans, the best islands to live on and whether or not their servants should wear shock collars, due to the inevitable job collapse they know they are causing.

Look at the HIV and Covid crises: the US, for example, did nothing about HIV for ten years; then they politicised Covid, spread misinformation about it, and ummed and ahhed about lockdowns. And so many of the public selfishly ignored all the rules about social distancing and wearing masks.

Unless something is done about climate change fast, society is going to collapse and we are going to see the rise of eco-fascism. Unfortunately, the oil and meat industries, among others, are lobbying to ignore climate change, while many in the public bury their heads in the sand.

I don't hold much confidence for the future of humanity, but I do hope that there will be pockets of resistance and attempts at a socialist revolution.
