The push for net zero emissions by 2050 among many western nations is a “futile” endeavour when countries such as China, India and Russia aren’t on board, according to Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“Let’s think about how futile this entire endeavour is when India aren’t signing up to the 2050 targets,” she said.
“China aren’t even showing up to Glasgow. Russia are sitting back laughing.
“So let’s not pretend that Australia is now part of some global answer because there are many parts of the globe where they’re looking on and just going to be taking advantage of the absolute idiocy and self-harm that we’ve committed to, and other western nations have committed to.”

The whole thing is a farce. It takes X joules of energy to move a 4,000 pound vehicle one mile in distance. Where do they think the electricity to charge the batteries will come from ? From power plants that will be burning fossil fuels and also being overwhelmed. How long will people be willing to wait 20 minutes at a charging station, especially when 3 other vehicles are ahead of them ? The whole endeavor will come tumbling down because it’s built on misinformation and downright lies !

Xi will appear at COP26 by video link, he hasn't left China since the pandemic started. China is doing a lot to reduce emissions, solar and wind farms, nuclear power, electric vehicles and high speed rail. India's emissions per person (1.9t) are very small, much less than ours (16.3t).
COP26 needs to keep global warming to 1.5C or 2C at the most.
If it fails to do so our grandchildren will have 3C of global warming and thousands of Australian coastal homes and roads will be inundated by the sea. Self harm is to keep burning and exporting coal.
Droughts, fires, floods and storms will occur more often and be more severe.

What is the level of CO2 at Net Zero? No one has said what level of CO2 is ok. Historic data shows MORE CO2 before the industrial age than the Level of CO2 we have now. So no matter how much they cut, no matter how many bans, no matter everyone living like cave people that Net Zero level will NEVER be reached. That is the point! They KNOW it will never be reached because there is no 100% proof of data that shows EXACTLY how much emissions is human. The only 100% fact they have is that 100% of their predictions since the 1700's HAS BEEN WRONG!
Therefore, we make all these sacrifices, we do as we are told, we live like homeless jihadis under rocks WITHOUT A FIRE (as that will be 100% banned) There is only ONE fool proof outcome of this and that is depopulation. If people are not dying from the cold of winters (or the response to covid) then they will just turn around and say "we are not making a dent in the Climate Change, we MUST depopulate". This can be achieved with another, more deadlier than covid (0.3% mortality) or influenza (1% mortality), it can be achieved with the mandated vaccines that is a permanent birth control, it can be from the planned (Nuclear)WWIII.

Maybe I am just crazy but couldn't they just build a bunch of giant geodesic domes, like those ones they plan to use in colonizing Mars over the coal power plants preventing them from releasing emissions directly into the atmosphere. Then use some sort of filtration system within the enclosed space to capture and store the emissions, that way you could keep using the coal power plants without issue.

I hardly think it’s futile. If we can become self sufficient in energy it has to be a plus. Yes it will be quite expensive but compared to $500 a barrel of oil in ten years time our outlay on green energy will pale into insignificance, & free energy won’t go up in price…… Ask the Swedes!

Spending $100 Trillion Dollars on achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by next year, let alone 2050 will not achieve anything except give some people better air to breath. It won’t stop Climate Change from happening, because Climate Change is already here. Achieving 3 degrees Celsius is guaranteed to happen if we don’t fix the problems caused by Climate Change.
Anyone continuing to push the Net Zero Carbon Emissions target is helping Climate Change to continue to devastate our Planet. This is really a crime against Humanity. The barn door is already opened. The damage is already done.
