  1. Basically it is a very polite way of say F U to West by India.
    Modi has said 2070 because we are going to do nothing. India's Coal consumption will increase from 970 million tonnes in 2020 to 2500 million tonnes by 2030. So Coal production will increase.
    It's the west which needs to decrease their per person carbon emissions equal to India and China if they are really serious about climate change. The onus of climate protection should be first on the climate criminals. And also if they want us to go green, then compensate monetarily, otherwise don't bark.

  2. India isn't part of nuclear supply group because "rich" countries don't let us in. Without shifting from coal to nuclear energy even 2070 look so ambitious, it will take 200 year to achive net zero.
