
India will achieve net zero by 2070, PM Narendra Modi said at COP26 summit in Glasgow while presenting 5 ‘Amrit Tatva’ as ‘Panchamrit’. PM said that India will bring its non-fossil energy capacity to 500 GW by 2030. He further said that India will fulfill 50% of its energy requirement through renewable energy by 2030. PM Modi further added that India will cut down net projected carbon emission by 1 billion ton from now until 2030. The fourth promise he made at COP summit was that India will bring down carbon intensity of its economy by more than 45% by 2030. And lastly, India will achieve the target of ‘net zero’ by 2070.

India is electrifying it's railway network at very high speed.
In my area railway electrified 97km of railway track . At very fast speed.
India has done very well in achieving renewable energy targets. But achieving net-zero by 2070 will be late. There will be net-zero humans by that time if goals are not set over aggressively.
