In this Our Changing Climate climate change video essay, I look at why net zero emissions targets are a scam. Specifically I look at how the promises of net zero at COP26 will not actually mitigate climate change quickly. Net zero emissions does not mean zero emissions. Countries and companies like BP can use the net zero emissions goals and targets to continue burning fossil fuels and emitting carbon dioxide, ultimately fueling the climate crisis, while they rely on the false promise of carbon capture and carbon sequestration techniques like tree planting or technologies that haven’t even been invented yet. Essentially, net zero emissions schemes allow for a worsening of the climate crisis because they are a procrastination technique for countries and corporations who do not want to reduce their emissions. Because of the vague definition of net zero, even fossil fuel companies like BP could call themselves net zero yet still continue with business as usual.

Earthâs mean temperature has always fluctuated over the 5.6 Billion years of the planetâs history. In one week a volcanic eruption in Iceland put more carbon into Earthâs atmosphere than the carbon reductions of the previous five years worldwide.
It is infantile to suggest that raising taxes will reduce carbon emissions or alter the earthâs temperature.
The planet NEEDS more CO2 not less. Plants have a process called photosynthesis where Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and solar energy is taken in, and Oxygen is emitted. It is the reverse of what animal respiration does. So between the animal kingdom and the plant kingdom, there is a symbiosis. Mutually beneficial. We breathe in oxygen and exhale CO2. Plants breathe in CO2 and give off oxygen. Everybody is happy.
Those apolitical, non-ideological scientists get paid a lot of money to lie. The job description of a research scientist is, âtake their money and tell them what they want to hear.â
There is no climate crisis, the earth will look after itself, we cannot reduce CO2, it`s a natural occurence. Levels of CO2 in the past have been far greater than today. What we should be doing is stopping the polluting of oceans, rivers, cities and stop the manufacture of single use plastic. STOP POLLUTING!!!
The percentage of CO2 as a greenhouse gas is just .042%. that`s including all the natural CO2 given off by oceans, forests, mountains, volcanos etc. The most abundent greenhouse gas is water vapour, humans roll in CO2 is around 2-3% of that .042% and has absolutely no effect on the climate whatsoever. Nowadays science has been politicised and it`s not supposed to be, it`s supposed to deal with whatever the true facts are.
Current levels of Co2 are historically low. Green plants evolved when CO2 levels were 1800â2100ppm, nearly five times current levels. The world actually prospered in the Carboniferous period 300 million years ago when CO2 levels were around 7`000 ppm (Yes, Seven Thousand) Green plants are gasping at current levels the way we would be gasping for air at a high altitude. Greenhouses often pump extra CO2 into the growing areas to stimulate growth, because normal air isnât enough.
We are all being conned big time by the people making trillions in grants & subsidies out of this eco-green scam and it`s not good for the planet. If CO2 levels dropped much below 200â300 ppm, photosynthesis would stop. Most green plants would die. Food crops for humans and livestock, and natural food sources for herbivores, would disappear. Animals would starve, and suffocate. We have been in far greater risk of extinction from too little CO2 than too much.

Climate change will end and be reversed naturally long before the western democracies build out the infrastructure to support electrical vehicles.
1. Carbon emissions are directly proportional to population. The population collapse has already started in Europe, Japan, Russia, and China. By 2035 the world's industrial population will be cut in half and carbon emissions with it.
2. All of the western democracies, have not only flatlined their carbon emissions for 10 years but most have made significant reductions.
But despite the above China is now the largest producer of atmospheric carbon and they are building coal fired electrical plants to produce the electricity for their electrical vehicles.
China now produces 13,000 million metric tonnes of Carbon each year and increasing exponentially – more than double that of the no. 2 producer USA which produces 5,000 metric tonnes and is flatlined
Why are we bankrupting the Western Democracies to make room for China to produce more Carbon. There is nothing we can do within the G20 countries that can impact Climate change when China produces as much Carbon as all G20 nations combined. If we really want to impact climate change then Europe, Canada and the USA need to introduce massive trade sanctions against China until China demonstrates that it is part of the worldwide community.
Protect natures carbon capture – large continuous forests, especially rainforests and the ocean. Brazil has clear cut and burned so much of the the Amazon rainforest that they have disrupted the water cycle turning large parts of the Amazon rainforest into desert and many tributaries have dried up. If Western Democracies really want to protect the planet then help Brazil, Central Africa, Indonesia, etc. protect their rainforests.

I think I know by now that everything is a scam , why should I believe the perpetrators?
What I canât understand is, the present CO2 levels of 420ppm are at historically low levels. If plants start to starve at 150 ppm , we need to seriously need to keep the levels up even higher, even 1000 ppm wouldnât be undesirable. The effects on temperature are not scientifically proven. In fact, temperature rises tend to predate CO2 levels by several hundred years. That being the case, it is idiotic to try to reduce CO2 levels.

Net Zero is a scam because their is no Anthropogenic Global Warming. We are still in an interglacial warming period.
I donât know why my algorithm threw this up two years laterâĻâĻbut I do know that there is a poor neighborhood in North Carolina that got pretty much taken over by a bio mass company. They are harvesting American forests, causing all manner of health issues (because people shouldnât breathe sawdust) and all of it goes to the UK. They get the credit for co2 reduction but pawn it off on other countries. They are not serious about fixing this.
The grotesque irony is that many of us feel obliged to defend the concept of "Net Zero" because the Right is currently attacking the idea that we need to reduce carbon emissions at all. The megacorporations and oligarchs have used their power to game the whole system "Heads we win, tails you lose"
If climate change is real then cut back on industry as well. Don't buy new keep repairing your old items to save the planet. A 3 day week would save a lot of energy but will they do that or it is not such a problem after all. It is only the households fault. we're being conned

How are we not at net zero carbon emissions when we have double the amount of trees that is needed to be at net zero. We need 1.5 trillion trees to capture all the carbon and there are currently 3 trillion trees planted.
To get net zero the world can only have at most 5% of the present emissions and probably much less. That residue MUST be absorbed by natural means (requiring efforts to support them) or man-made absorption techniques that will likely be very expensive but can't be evaded. Once the level of atmospheric CO2 has stopped going up the temperature will still rise because of the amount recently added. Maybe for forty years. The only way to cause the temperature to fall is to drop the amount and we don't know how.
CO2 is the gas of life. Levels have never been lower. If levels drop below 180 parts per million, life starts to die.
I want to look at solutions to get off of oil and gas theyâre not good for us. I donât want to listen to the economics doesnât matter. It doesnât seem to be going anywhere. I want to listen to solutions to get off of carbon and go to a renewable sector we can get into this. Iâm going to green washing and we can call it our cancel culture I just want solutions to reduce carbon right away. Itâs been going on too long
