Nobody really knows how much it would cost to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Yet historian Yuval Noah Harari’s analysis, based on the work of scientists and economists, indicates that humanity might avert catastrophe by investing the equivalent of just two percent of global GDP into climate solutions. He makes the case that preventing ecological cataclysm will not require the major global disruptions many fear and explains that we already have the resources we need — it’s just a matter of shifting our priorities.
Countdown is TED’s global initiative to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis. The goal: to build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030, in the race to a zero-carbon world. Get involved at https://countdown.ted.com/sign-up

says the man who knows nothing except what climate scientists who are paid by the gov to find climate problems has to say. WE WILL NEVER COMPLY WITH GLOBALISTS
Aaaand adding this to my absolute favourite videos, naturally right after sharing it to every social media I have
Keep in mind that in Ireland at least, 2% of GDP is about 14.2% of the yearly budget. But still an interesting video!
but the loss and damage? The historical Emissions Debt, what will do the principal emissores about this?
There is no climate breakdown. Let's talk numbers. Globally the ACE index (accumulated cyclone energy) 1980-2021 shows no increasing trend. Global Hurricane Landfalls 1970-2021 (updated from Weinkle et al, 2012) shows no trend. Satellite data since 1980 shows a slight downward global trend for total hurricaine numbers with 2021 being a record low year. The IPCC reports in AR6, chapter 11, "The total global frequency of TC [tropical cyclone] formation will decrease or remain unchanged with increasing global warming (medium confidence)." Multidecadal variability in Atlantic hurricaines is most probably related to the AMO (Vecchi et al, 2021). NOAA data 1851-2021 shows no trend in number of hurricaine landfalls with the record high being 1886. What the data from NOAA SPC shows about tornados: EF1-EF5 (1954-2022) no trend; EF3-EF5 (most destructive) (1954-2022) 50% decline. No EF5s in US since 2013 (a record absence).
The Global Land Precipitation Anomaly from AR5 will disappoint with deviations from the average increasing by 0.2% per decade, but if you look at the actual data, it's just very variable over the decades.
Drought appears to be decreasing globally (Watts et al, 2018) measured by SPI 1901-2017.
For every million people on earth, annual deaths from climate-related causes (extreme temperature, drought, flood, storms, wildfires) declined 98%–from an average of 247 per year during the 1920s to 2.5 in per year during the 2010s.
Data on disaster deaths come from (EM-DAT, CRED / UCLouvain, Brussels,Belgium. )
Globally 2000-2019 there was a large decrease in cold-related deaths and a moderate increase in heat-related deaths (Zhao, 2021, Lancet). However, coldwaves are over 9 times more likely to kill than heatwaves, so the overall result is very beneficial.
What else? Oh, deserts like the Sahara have shrunk considerably and the Earth has greened by 15% or more in a human lifetime (NASA).
On extinction the rate is very low: 900 known lost species for 2.1 million known species in 500 years. At that frequency it will take over 930,000 years to reach 80% extinction of species experienced at the K-T boundary that saw the extinction of the dinosaurs.
There is no climate crisis.
I think the rich have the ability to investment this 2% rather than telling the poor needing to foot the bill. All this talk and science gets revealed to being what it truly is when who is expected to pay for the suggested solutions to the problems they believe needs to be addressed.
It sounds too simple. If to solve this problem, 2% of world GDP and that's it, it would have been done already 10 years ago. But the problem is far more complex. It is not just a question of pouring money: it is a question of physics, a question of EROEI. We cannot expect getting rid of 80% of the primary energy we are using today in one click of 2% GDP. This means changing the complete system from A to Z and loosing parts of what we had. Sobriety is a must. And that's the most difficult part of the equation.
Why would fossil fuels NEED to be subsidized?
I don't believe anything this guy says,After the movie about the class struggle comes the one about the gender struggle and the one about the climatic struggle
They don't even take the temperatures from the airport thermometers (which are the most reliable) and the treaty and 1000 scientists affirming that there is no such climate change, they will ignore it, they ride on propaganda and interested financing as part of their agenda (2030).
This is Hopium.
Nahhhhhhh
Thank you For Monetizing Sin. Thank You Harari. Programable religion is a real thing. Thank you For Monetising Sin. Ive always known that I was being Surveiled. For the love of money is the root of all evil. We are now considered Crypto-Currency. Tokens. To be traded. The mark of the beast is 666 Which means the number of man. 777 is Saved by Grace by Faith. I think the mark of the beast has always been here. We are saved by Grace through Faith.
Harari e Schawb diffondono idee folli e pericolose.
HARARI PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD
When the "science" is almost purely based on political and monetary shifting of power, backed by scientists in the pocket of government or people in bed with governmental agencies….. you might want to be just a hair skeptical.
Skepticism, curiosity, and CRITICAL THINKING are the basis for REAL science.
Think for yourselves people, even if you are wrong.
Climate Change/Climate Crisis? Isn't the earth going through it's natural cycle? This guy is a puppet. Whoever drinks the kool-aid this guy is serving might want to rethink the ingredients of what this meat puppet is serving
He’s totally exposed himself for the fraud he really is.
In short, Save nature! Else, you are investing in future that doesn't exist😢
Not with the current thinking.
If one thing is true about fighting climate change is that it is a passtime of the wealthy. That is true for countries, but also individuals. A climate strategy that makes us poorer is not a viable long term strategy.
The problem being no country is investing in making the products they need locally which is going to be needed until we can run big ships and aeroplanes on hydrogen then global trade can take place. Pausing a lot of global trade so every single nation can make more and create more jobs for themselves. This would only strengthen a countries economy and every nation would help their economy’s if we aren’t shipping say ornaments for an example around the world weight that can be produced closer to its destination countries. It costs so many dollars pounds to move every lbs in weight making it harder to transport using fuel we need not burn. The only thing we need to move around the world is the workforce of 30-50 year olds around the world to help nations that don’t have the workforce as every nation needs to build out solutions to their own air quality net zero needs to happen sooner than hoped to stop the dangerous gas levels going higher than 1200 parts per million. 50 years of industry has us at over 700 parts per million that’s before over 70% of the world has had their industrial production unless they skip burning fuels like we have in richer nations the tipping points are gone oceans will raise up to 10 meters in as then more trees can be planted we need the diversity around the equator for wind to move life around the globe. Food can be grow local with light emitting diaodeds and then foods that can only be grown in hot places will be able to be grown globally.
There is no crisis. It's just climate. Climate consists of the average set of atmospheric conditions in a geographic region. Now climate is different from pollution. Why don't go to work on the plastics & tobacco.
