한총리 ‘기후변화 시대 맞는 새 재난대응체계 마련하라’
South Korea’s Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has ordered officials to come up with a new disaster response system to deal with climate change, which is widely believed to have contributed to last weeks floods.
At Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Han said the existing measures are no longer effective.
He asked officials to strengthen safety standards in response to climate change… to enable South Korea to deal with major disasters in the future.
He also ordered a round of nationwide safety inspections… due to start tomorrow… to be conducted more thoroughly… in order to find and address risk factors in the earliest stages.
These inspections will be conducted through October 14th.
