I was 12 during the winter of 1977-78. I well remember all the fear mongering after that terrific winter storm declaring that the world was entering a new ice age…but I don't remember anyone trying to make political mileage out of it. A different age, I suppose.

I am 77 years old, and I've been around for a LOT of hurricanes. The uninformed just fail to research the history of hurricanes. We have had far worse hurricanes than Ian. For instance, Hurricane Donna, Camille, and Andrew (and these are just from memory, not research). The number of hurricanes has not increased. We are getting fewer hurricanes now than in past years. This is a subject that has to be researched, from a factual standpoint, nor theories that don't pan out. The left seems to have adopted Chicken Little's saying as fact, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Lots of folks find it hard to acknowledge that the "climate change" has any merit as to ending the earth. Weather is cyclical and it has always been. I remember a time when there were theories taht there was going to be another Ice Age, and that was just in 1973=1982. That's my opinion
