Shifting wind patterns are making extreme weather events more likely. This is because the wind, which distributes areas of high and low pressure along the latitude lines of the Earth, is also being influenced by climate change.
The wind is the motor for our weather. It brings us both sunshine and rain. And during the winter months, it regularly blows itself up into heavy storms. But throughout the globe, climate change is causing shifts in existing wind systems – with devastating consequences. Atlantic hurricanes, which build up over the tropics and often lay waste to swathes of land on the eastern coast of the US, are becoming more intense and bringing heavier rainfall.
Scientists are looking for clues as to the precise causes for the warming in the Arctic, where temperatures are climbing more rapidly than anywhere else in the world. In the northern hemisphere, rising temperatures result in wind systems ‘twisting’ at 10-kilometer altitudes. The Arctic jet stream drives high- and low-pressure areas around the globe. It travels around the planet from west to east at speeds of up to 500 kilometers an hour. But in recent years, meteorologists have noticed more frequent weaker phases in the jet stream – with fatal consequences for Europe. Droughts like the one experienced in 2018 and flood catastrophes like that of 2021 are both likely to recur.
Researchers on the island of Spitsbergen have already made an alarming discovery. Climate change is altering the wind, and the altered wind is accelerating climate change – a dangerous vicious cycle.

The obvious danger of human driven climate change was evident to me in the 1980s. But then I've never owned any shares in an oil or coal comapny, nor have I ever been exposed to right wing media. So I've never denied what I can clearly see happening now, 40 years later.
It's just a shame so many people chose to be wilfully stupid. Oh well, too late to do anything late now. I pity your kids (I didn't have any. I could already see what a horrible place full of such complete idiots the world was becoming 20 years ago, and it has only gotten worse.)

What. if we have an all too low level of CO2 in the atmosphere???????? What if it really needed to be in the level of 3000 to 9000 ppm of co2.
If the co2 ppm level was in lets say 3000 ppm, could the vegetation grow faster and stronger and could it cause the deserts to grow so that the formation of sand would stop??????
Could the excess warming change to stabilizing the weather?????

( Please Read) People should realize the Term climate change. Is literally littered plausible deniability. Infact saying its manmade is plausibly deniable. Why….If you factor out anything normal then you deal with man made. That comes down to knowingly creating the scenarios that lead to atmospheric upheaval and Predictable environmental events. The other Would be from not being Good stewards of the earth in general. And I m here to say most if not all people in the world suck at stewardship especially environmental stewardship. That narative however we are being told is the direct cause of climate change. I would say we count for maybe meh 20% of the problem that includes everything we do in our day to day lives. Now 60 of the problem however which is ( Man made) would be overtly on purpose and the atmospheric ,land and below crust disturbances will be used to insert narrative into the minds of those who only believe face value. And then the 20% left would be earth naturally trying to correct itself. Literally the use of Frequency and wave tech etc ( above and bellow ground) are throwing the earths own natural magnetic pull way out of alignment. Now sprinkle that with some aluminum oxide out of Rainbow Brights tool belt. And you have severe man made climate change and plausible deniability ( guess what you can still claim climate change). It should be noted weather control or tinkering has been studied since before the 19th century. And it's been discussed talked about applauded and applied successfully for at least 70 yrs in some form. Remember Food , Migration , Mortality , Products ,Money are all directly impacted controlled by weather. We in the world are being targeted and manipulated. By the Uber wealthy and social elites looking to be the ruling class of people and have a base of mindless consumers that are easily controlled. And before you go an jump up and down and say Trump and his family are with them. You might want to second guess that. He has been solidly in their crosshairs since day 1 from 8yrs ago.
Temperature will get higher as vegans continue to get their way. More and more fields will be cleared for wheat, soy, corn, and grain. It is disastrous for the earth. More and more trees are being removed. Cattle and sheep can move around trees but gigantic machines guzzling fuel cannot.

What drives me bats is that on the one hand we can ALL see the impact of climate change on everything — including human infrastructure.
So in this rapidly changing world how on earth can you justify the transition to digital/online everything?!
Power grids are vulnerable and switching everything over to solar or wind is not going to solve the problems looming ahead.
Sadly, it seems like those who can make big systematic change are waiting until forced by worsening circumstances.
By then it will be too late for many of us…
Nobody cares or we would live in communal style neighborhoods with no personal equipment ownership i.e. vehicles and electronics, We would share everything possible without negatively affecting our personal hygiene.
Everyone just goes on and turns their back to the inevitable like it's some kind of fantastic propaganda. Well, yeah I heard about it but I'm just going to keep on living as I always have. It's not my problem. Governments spin the issue as a secondary to other more important concerns like killing each other indiscriminately and petty arguments about religion, nationality and other short term ideological and social or religious arguments. Meanwhile the planet is dying and everyone lends a blind eye to the problem. What kind of world will our children have if everyone today doesn't wake up and do something? The writing is on the wall. Things will only get worse as everyone acquiesces and denies what is soon coming to pass.

Climate change deniers will find it harder to justify their opinions as the planet warms, droughts increase, crops fail, food and fresh water shortages increase worldwide, and civil unrest increases because of it. The truth is, we are already probably past the point of "no return." It will take a technological miracle of some kind to save the planet, and humanity. Ignorance is NOT "bliss."
You people are quite literally insane. Humans have not, are not, and never will have any appreciable effect on climate.
The problem with this movie is that it only covers short time periods. It also rarely provides a data set to back up claims. For example, hurricanes are not increasing in strength or intensity. Even IPCC AR6 WG1 chapter 12, table 12 does not attribute climate change to anything other than rising temperature and increased rates of precipitation.
The movie contradicts itself. Wind speeds are likely to be lower if temperatures rise (10.40). This is because temperatures will rise faster at higher or lower latitudes than at the equator and therefore the temperature differential will be less between the two and so will wind speeds (generally).Preliminary. modelling for southern ocean doesn't find any increase in wind speeds, or it suggests it will be lower.
The movie also shows that there will be winners and losers in a changing climate. The albatross seems to be a winner!
Finally, in the medieval warming period we know the Vikings grew crops in Greenland. This demonstrates that the climate always changes with or without industrialisation. We also know that rising CO2 has caused the greening of the planet. We should welcome the warming world, accept that there will be some losers, but overall, I suspect we will all win with longer growing seasons, less extreme weather (related to lower wind speeds), and warmer weather (it is the cold we should fear which harms humans far more than the warm).

Ny-ålesund data for maximum annual temperatures shows no trend since records began in 1969. It has not got hotter. However, the minimum annual temperatures has increased, so the winters have become milder (but still extremely cold). The increase in the annual minimum temperature occurred over 20 years, but this trend stopped around 2006.
To find a longer term view on Svalbard you need to look up other weather stations, for example Longyearbyen + Svalbard Lufthavn. Looking at say 1950 to the present shows no trend in the maximum temperatures. The minima dropped quite considerably from the later 50s. The 60s and 70s had an intensely cold trend of minima. It then warmed in the 80s/90s and from 2005 levelled off. So overall the swings in temperature on Svalbard during the year have become less extreme. Very roughly, it hasn't got hotter, but the winters, which got very much colder, became less cold, now they have stopped getting less cold since about 2005. Svalbard's climate became milder, less extreme than compared to the 60s and 70s, but not hotter. That process of amelioration has stopped. These changes are uncorrelated to the level of CO2 in the atmosphere.
There is no objective observational evidence that we are living in a global climate crisis.

It is not climate change or temperatures rising that is altering wind patterns it is all those wind turbines put in place that cannot help but alter wind patterns. Seems science cannot see that they are causing the wind patterns to shift. The fix has became the next problem, typical with science. The world is moving from one problem to the next with science driving.
The claim about hurricanes getting more powerful is a false claim that any good science should know. It is simply science not understanding how the world works. Science has a very poor understand of anything in this world. They make lots of claims with very few that are true.
The current stands of "giant" redwoods along Northern Coast are only around 12,000 years old. Giant redwoods are not a sub-specie of ordinary redwoods. They are indeed just ordinary redwoods that enjoy ideal the current local growing conditions brought on by the current inter-glacial that began some 15,000 years ago. This current climate change cycle gave us these wondrous stands and the next inevitable change currently underway will take them away a few thousand years hence when our enjoyable inter-glacial epoch shifts away.
Coastlines are never "threatened" as the current environmental quackery demands that all change be anthropomorphized as "bad" or "threatening" Nature does not threaten nature and the universal rule of nature is 'change.'
There is no such thing as global sea level simply because there is no standard by which to measure it since the size and shape of the sea basins as well as the land masses that separate these basins are also constantly changing.
There is only local sea level and people who build permanent structures on or near low lying sea shore should not be surprised by local sea level either falling away or rising as the case may be. These change rates are slow in terms of human life span and have not changed sea-rise or sea-fall rates since reliable record keeping began in the early 1800s.
