But the government does nothing to ease the impacts of down turns and recessions. In fact governments make them worse. For example after both the federal and sate governments killed off thousands of businesses and hundreds of thousands of jobs with their Chinese Communist Party type response to Covid and destroyed the ecomomy, the QLD Labor government raised the undeveloped land value amount on properties which then of course raised the cost of land rates, then raised car rego fees meanhile the newly in place Greens beholden federal Labor government scrapped what little was left of fossil fuel subsidies and so pushed up the price of fossil fuels and so electricty and petrol cost is going through the roof.
If any government actually wanted to reduce the impact of the situation they've caused it would at at least freeze all government price hikes like land rates and rego and they'd scrap their limited to down right banning of coal and gas extraction and sell it domestically to bring down energy prices plus they'd ban the closing down of more coal fired power station.
But no government will because it's all about wiping out the middle class.
