  1. This is a terrible approach by the DR. So taking cars out of the road (combustion) is going to be a relief for those who suffer climate anxiety. Thats ridiculous.

  4. 1. Next day is my deadline for graduate thesis, I'm doomed and gloomy now cause I hasn't finished yet. Worse, it is forecasted that there will be floods in my area. That has adverse effects to my mental health cause I have a post -traumatic stress disorder. I think that I can take a walk and calm down. For me, a walk per se allways helps me tackle climate anxiety.
    Just for learning vocabulary:)

  6. I watch dozens of videos arguing that the earth is flat. There are hundreds, maybe thousands on youtube and other video hosting platforms. They make a pretty sophistic argument that the world is flat, if you don't know basic history or science, I watch those videos for the entertainment value. Here is my take on the "Climate Crisis" …….. There has been no rapid heating of the Earth's climate, no immense increase in sea level rise. No increase in droughts, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, or tornadoes. In 2019 more children died from complications from obesity, than starvation. In 2019 the world produced 25% more food than it needed, and agriculture still wasn't using its fullest potential. We are not in a mass extinction event. There is no such thing as a 97% consensuses that any warming has been caused by humans. Where is the "Climate Crisis"……….

  7. VOCBULARY:
    1. heatwave (n) a period of unusually hot weather
Ex: Ideas flowed out of me like water out of a Brooklyn fire hydrant in the midst of a summer heat wave (Longman)

    3. doom and gloom: a situation was very and without hope
Ex: It's not all doom and gloom and there is lots to look forward to (Oxford)

    4. first-hand : obtained or experienced yourself
Ex: the unfortunate people who experience climate events first-hand (video)

    5. per se: in and on itself
Ex: Money per se is not the main reason that people change careers (Longman)

    My favourite expressions:
🌼It's the worried that's shared by the young
🌸Many of the things which are good for fighting climate change are also good for mental health
💮Get fossil fuel vehicles off the road
    🏵Enable more walking and recycling
    🍀Change our road layout
    🐶green and blue spaces

  8. Nowadays climate changes a lot. Scientists say that in 5 years we might see that temperature will be higher than usual. The reason of it is atmosphere of the Earth gets worse. I hooe everything will be fine. Once Hocking said that people will destroy the planet in 100 years and it will hard to live because of high temperature temperature. Thanks BBC for your work ^-^

    My summary while listening

When we talk about climate change, we discuss their consequences on the economy and the environment. Nevertheless, it also has an adverse effect on our minds. We all feel like doom and gloom when seeing the list of climate emergencies such as fires, heat waves, flooding, droughts. It goes on and on.

This worry is leading to mental health problems not only for the unfortunate people experiencing the natural disasters first hand but all of us on the whole.

According to Dr Gesche Huebner, a researcher, she has clear evidence about the link of climate change and the increased risk of suicide. Besides, experiencing natural disasters such as storms, flooding can result in post traumatic stress disorder and other anxiety issues.

In addition, she mentions positive things which can be done to benefit our mental health. If we get fossil fuel vehicles off the road, the air quality is improve and it’s good for mental health per se. Or maybe we can change the road infrastructure layout to provide more space to cycle or walk, our mental and physical health becomes better according. The same things go for more green spaces such as parks, reserves for wildlife.

  10. "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."
    Matthew 24:6-14

  13. The Climate Anxiety Agenda on air. They torture you all the day around talking about climate change and disasters, and thereafter tell you that it is the climate change that makes you feel upset to the point of going crazy. The positive effect of riding bicycles against anxiety does not come out of physical reasons, or because of the psychological impact of feeling cycling saviours of the world , but simple out of the simple fact that as soon as you start riding you stop watching and / or listening to the … of the anxiogenic broadcasters, and so you obtain "out of sight, out of mind" refreshing psycho-effect. We miss only eco-fighters, armed with whatever sharp, in duels against the tires of eco-monsters that do not cycle. Eco-woke-future out of doomy and gloomy anxiogenic times along impositions by implicit means.
I wonder what is the percentage of parrots among youngsters. I would bet on around 84 %.
