Chris Skidmore was tasked with carrying out a report into the business case for delivering the net zero target by the former prime minister Liz Truss.
He’s called for a range of actions including banning gas boilers within a decade.
The government has insisted the UK is leading the world in tackling climate change.

Hydrogen boilers offer people false hope that they can avoid having to buy a heat pump. It really would be better if all parties could agree to denounce them.
Assuming you are not cheating by using gas and actually make green hydrogen, it takes about 6 times as much electricity to power a hydrogen boiler as a heat pump. Plus the cost of hydrogen factories and you'd be looking at more like 8x as much money. A heat pump installation costs about 8x as much but in the long run it'll be cheaper. The government should subsidise loans to cover the cost of installation, with the interest capped at inflation like student loans, so you pay back what was borrowed and no more. Better to lend the full amount rather than give half of the amount and expect people to pay the rest themselves. No up front costs, pay it back over the lifetime of the heat pump.
In blocks of flats it may be necessary to use some kind of central whole building system instead of individual heat pumps for each flat. In some cases it may not be possible to install a heat pump at all. But in those cases it would still cost at least 3x as much to run a hydrogen boiler as just using normal electric heaters. Hydrogen boilers are a scam and should be denounced by everyone.
We need a policy whereas all new builds have solar panels as standard.

And before all our tax money and all the changes are made for it like 15 minute cities etc, I would like to have full proof in writing from scientists, full video proof regarding sea levels etc, and proof of damage before another penny of tax is paid by me. Solar should be put on roofs all council buildings and houses any exess can be diverted back to the grid to raise funds or sold direct to consumer out local council os building 8 new homes with heat pumps and solar the problem is there not installing the same in all there existing properties. Some like grade listed will obviously not be able to make certain changes.. this means they need boilers and shouldn’t be stopped from upgrading them and obviously council homes or very old homes that need updated boilers and haven’t had in 10-15 years should be allowed to. They need to make alternative options before they stop it completely

Too many people now believe Humans can control the climate, humans are not Gods and don't hear real top scientists like; William Happer, Willie Soon, Ian Plimer, Patrick Moore and possibly the top man Richard Lindzen, who speak out against this madness.

An air source heat pump costs nowhere near £25K, particularly when you take into account the £5K government grant. It's more like £3-10K.
Channel 4 Why did you STOP any comments on the police rapist story, it feels like censotship used in places like China. Government could do a lot more to help the environment, if every new build made to have solar and every new estate to have small windmills and green areas between estates and villages to preserve wildlife and forests/ woods and meadows, and redeveloped waste land instead of eating up farm land, produce more bio diesel and stop dumping recyclables and plastic waste, this country is dirty and going down hill fast, British tax payers are not getting there money’s worth, stop privatisation , and keep Britain British and self sufficient, many family’s are falling into poverty due to fuel costs , I’m sure it’s not all due to the ruskie’s invasion?
