This river provides water to over 40 million people which is about twice the population of New York, and in the Western United States is a major source of hydroelectric power. However, due to climate change, the river is running dangerously low, and the situation is only getting worse. Scientists are warning that if we don’t act fast, this river could disappear, leading to devastating consequences for the region and beyond.

In this science communication, I’m sharing with you the Colorado River Disaster: A Climate Change Wake-Up Call. This event highlights just how important it is to pay attention to climate change and how we need to start to communicate science and technology in a more effective way to society.

As scientists, it’s our responsibility to raise awareness about the dangers of climate change and the effects it has on our environment. This event is a great reminder of the importance of science communication and how we need to start to do a better job of communicating the science to the public.
