The cause of global warming is not known. It is known global warming didn't emerge from changes in well understood atmospheric characteristics such as earth's greenhouse effect than high school earth science describes as adding 10°F (5.55°C) to earth's temperature from water vapor blocking inferred electromagnetic radiation from the surface from radiating out into space. The greenhouse effect takes place within 20 meters of the surface. After that distance inferred radiation has been totally absorbed by greenhouse gasses and heat transfer is through convection. The greenhouse gas water vapor as long as not near zero keeps the greenhouse effect at temperature saturation where having high concentrations of greenhouse gasses can not add more than 10°F (5.55°C) to earth's temperature.
Global warming after rising at 2/10°C per decade in the 1980s and at similar rates in the 1960s and 1970s suddenly paused in the early 1990s at a reported 1.1°C. Over the next thirty years global warming dipped and regained temperature, but never increase the next notable increment of 1.2°C. In 2022 global warming was reported at 1.1°C. With these end-to-end temperatures carbon dioxide in earth's atmosphere continued to rise during this thirty year period much as it had done in the 1980s with there being no correlation between rising carbon dioxide levels and the 1.1°C of global warming reported at the beginning and end of this thirty year period.
Global warming is hovering around 1.1°C and is still apparently paused. These global warming temperatures are subject to reevaluation. The early 1990s reported 1.1°C of global warming may have been reevaluated to 1.0°C in the late 1990s. The current 2022 report of 1.1°C of global warming appears to be being scrutinized to be lowered possibly gong to evaluated down to 1.0°C.
It's impossible for noncondensing greenhouse gasses such as methane and carbon dioxide to be the cause of global warming due to their greenhouse gas behavior. Not just because the greenhouse effect is almost always at temperature saturation and can't go higher than 10°F (5.55), but also because at 1% average tropospheric water vapor concentration the noncondensing greenhouse gasses have no leverage at about 1/2% temperature share of the greenhouse effect to make any real difference. This is why in high school level descriptions of earth's greenhouse effect it is described as only due to water vapor. Greenhouse gas behavior is not active without inferred electromagnetic radiation of the type coming from a surface such as ground, water, or a building.
The UN IPCC reports when they were less than 200 pages long provided you'd read the entire report were clear they only took their greenhouse gas samples as 20 THOUSAND meters altitude well into the stratosphere where water vapor is near zero not within 20 meters of the surface where earth's greenhouse effect takes place. That stratospheric altitude allowed carbon dioxide to have 20% temperature share in the greenhouse gas proportion instead of the 1/4% share in has in earth's greenhouse effect. Human caused carbon dioxide has about 1/100°C temperature share in earth's greenhouse effect. 80 X 0.01°C = 0.8°C which is well over half of the 1.1°C of global warming. That is exactly what the IPCC was saying "That global warming is primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels". That statement was never found in the scientific IPCC report.
The 2021 UN IPCC report is now over 2000 pages and doesn't make any solid claims. The forward page V states warming will continue without reductions in greenhouse gas emissions reaching 1.5°C and 2.0°C. Those temperatures are intensionally left with no indication of what they are in reference to. It is not possible to computer copy the phrase. They don't want people being able to sample the document easily.
Where this greenhouse gas fraud started is when Carl Sagan on video testifying before US Senate committee on Climate Change stated greenhouse gasses were responsible for 30°C of added temperature to the earth and humans were adding more of them. It was horrible to watch. Carl Sagan has to be assumed to be comfortable at public speaking and he was clearly nervous making these statements because they were totally off the rails from what any good high school student would have known at the time. Carl Sagan was asking for money for conducting more research into greenhouse gases and specifically stated NOT to criticize the oil industry. That's because they would have sent detailed documents right back showing Carl Sagan was lying.
Al Gore was seen sitting on that committee and getting excited when he heard that scoop of greenhouse gases causing global warming. The reason is was a scoop was because Carl Sagan made it up. I'm sure Dr. Sagan has some numbers to cosmetically back up what he was saying, but it is not the science at work. Al Gore then made greenhouse gas emissions a major topic when he was elected vise president in 1992 and carried these ideas to the UN. It set Al Gore up for life. I don't known if Carl Sagan ever got any money for his research for providing Al Gore with the scam.

Climate change, formerly known as weather has been around for about 4.5 billion years, weather goes through cycles and the cycles have also been around for 4.5 billion years. Man doesn't have the power to control weather or it's cycles. Anyone telling you otherwise is a liar and trying to get into your pockets and increase their control over you.
