  1. Also another thing is that if everything is controlled under electricity, the big fish have control over everything, You cant go off grid with your car theres no electricity out there. The bigger problem is the way agriculture is 95% of the cause

  2. I think these are the areas where we are falling short and need more focus: very high voltage power lines that can transfer renewable energy 800 miles or more; vehicle to grid to backup wind and solar and solve the intermittency problem (or some other energy storage solutions like pumped hydro, sodium ion batteries, iron batteries, or concentrated solar power), manufacturing processes especially steel and cement, aviation and shipping, and meat substitutes.

  3. Massive thanks to M and the CrashCourse team for another brilliant series! Loved the Black American History series and this was a great follow-up to that. Can't wait to see what's next. That being said, action is needed to prevent a climate catastrophe. We are not doing enough to prevent this. Governments think that by attending a few global conferences and signing a communique saying XYZ that something is being done, but it's not enough. We have to be more proactive. As M said, 8 billion people on Earth is equal to 8,000,000,000 solutions, so we need unite and work towards a common purpose: survival. Not just for large countries, but small ones. We ALL matter. All the best to you M and thanks again to everyone at CrashCourse for the fantastic job with educating us and providing with scintillating content. One love.

  4. It's a shame to end such an important series without properly covering the enormous impacts of animal agriculture.

It was mentioned in one of the first episodes, then multiple times it was said that we need to consider every piece of the emissions pie, and then this piece just never got substantially referenced ever again. Hank's talked about this before. I know Crash Course knows better.

  5. Is the next series going to be called Crash Course: Ignoring the Elephant in the room? Because you did this whole series on climate change without ever mentioning the single greatest source of greenhouse gasses. I suppose it was too much to ask for an American produced series to admit its own Military produces more emissions than most countries. I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed.

  6. TODAY U.S. Senator from Wisconsin Ron Johnson said climate change will be GOOD because "you only need to be concerned if you're in the hot part of Africa, but the United States is in good shape." So basically as long as jerks like him can get elected, humanity is screwed.

  7. I read somewhere that 1.5 degrees is not possible unless we stop eating beef. I am not sure it's vegans bending the findings or a fact, but it's undeniable that meat is extremely wasteful. I think it should be mentioned more.

  8. I wish you talked more about the food industry and how our eating habits contribute to climate change… I guess talking about that doesn't get as much attention 😮‍💨

  9. "We choose to [win the fight against climate change] in [the following] decade[s] and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too."

    Everyone contributes. Everyone wins.

  10. This may be very pessimistic of me, but all this talk about alternative energy sources are just try-hard solutions without addressing the root cause, which is overpopulation and over-consumption. No matter how much energy alternative energy sources can churn out, there is no stopping climate change if people are just going to use more and more energy thinking "oh this is free energy from the environment anyway so let's just go wild on using more energy". Nothing is going to change except people getting greedier and manufacturing more things we don't need. Even with all these technology, climate change and temperature increase won't be a "if" but a "when". Imo, I think the solution is to have people be more considerate of the environment, not over-consume, control population growth, conserve resources, and be ok with some discomfort (like if it's slightly warmer than usual, just switch on the fan and take cold showers instead of turning the aircon. This might not apply to places with serious heatwaves though)

  11. I couldn't agree more with you! As we dive into the complex issue of climate change, it's crucial to keep an open mind and scrutinize mainstream narratives. Taking into consideration all factors, including natural climate variations and potential inaccuracies in data, will undoubtedly lead to a more comprehensive understanding. By adopting a thoughtful approach, we can make informed decisions and work together on meaningful solutions. Let's continue questioning and learning to ensure the best possible outcomes for our planet! #OpenMinded #ClimateChangeNuances

  12. The idea that every person on earth is coming up with solutions to climate change is so ridiculous, lol. And there was nothing mentioned in this video about the absolutely insane amount of influence that those mega corporations responsible for these emissions have on world governments due to their disgustingly large amount of economic power. It talks about all the things we can do to combat climate change, and says nothing about the current state of the opposition and why exactly it's such an impossible task with our current global system.
