We are already experiencing problems at the threshold of 1.5C and its getting significantly worse, we aren't even aiming to stop emitting for decades.

Typical from the UN to mistake the responsabilities of capitalism and big business around climate change, an extend that responsability to all humanity, like if the poor people from poor countries could be able to choose what´s the energy, food production, and transportation systems that we as a humanity require to avoid the worse consequences derived from climate change and environmental destruction. They´re leading us all to an unavoidable situation and mass killing people in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudán, and Congo with their genocidal campaings and imperialism.
Well, we crossed 2 degrees in less than a year after this video is released.
Collapse is slated from 2025-2035. A little ahead of the rome commission prediction of 2040.
Before ben we had people building bunkers because they believe WWIII was just around the corner in the 60s and 70s. Before this for centuries we have had people predicting that God was going to end the world. I completely appreciate what Ben is doing. As for me I'm going to stay engaged in society and fight to protect the planet in my own way.
Right answer is not known to us now because we haven't made it through the collapse. There is no reference to what's coming. Whoever survives will have learned to live sustainably, or they wouldn't have survived.

Climate change is the boutique concern of the affluent.
Lets be honest here, these COP# conferences, have they been net positive? The amount of air travel just for this one conference, the amount of food waste, the amount of general waste. And then for all the promises to be missed or just walked back on. I get this guy. I just feel sorry for the next generation.
I have been going off grid, planting and plating fruit tree's and bushes since the 90's.. We , have been running out of water, the climate is getting hotter…My goal to grow and buy all my food locally …To many wars and self center people for anything to change were are already at 1.5 cl increase.. Tons of people are going off grid growing there own food…
Government can't control, how much fast food people eat, junk food we are greedy people over weight people who create ons of waste..WE buy oil base clothing, products, humans are very greedy in the rich countries, Wars are happening , 350 million people die a year of starvation, million more from lake of water.. Move off grid and start growing your own food..

The guy isn't saying the climate is doomed. He is saying society is doomed.
Capitalism being doomed means climate will be saved in the end, but not before some harsh punchs come out.
And the girls from IPCC are being coy somewhat: yes, we technically do have the capability to avoid catastrophe, but look around, WE AREN'T ACTING ON IT. We're still having to debate deniers and stop facist antiecological movements take power.

Well, 1 year later we're at 1.5. And no sign of slowing down. Co 2 emissions are going up every year
Move away from fossil fuels, go plant based, recycle, buy less, and direct action.
There is already enough co2 to raise av. Global temp above 4c…we cant grow food much above 2c….there is no effective way of removing co2 or methane…anything we try to do will make about 5 minutes to surviva…eat drink and fornicate for tomorrow we die!
Can we do things like, work from home, eat local produce, learn online, eat vegetarian, stay home and do home gardening, collect rain water, grow more trees, becoming minimalism, eat less, and walk more?
Gonna be +4 celsius at 2100, that's what it's gonna be.

The correct cancer analogy is this. You're a doctor and have diagnosed a patient with cancer. It's been caught early and it's one of those cancers with a good rate of remission. You inform the patient of some lifestyle changes they can make, and of their treatment options. The patient doesn't do anything and refuses treatment. Over the months, you watch the condition of the patient deteriorate. The treatment options dwindle and the prognosis gets worse. The patient continues to refuse treatment and their health further deteriorates. At some point, you have to tell the family to make arrangements for a funeral. You don't tell the family of a stage 4 cancer patient who has continuously demonstrated an unwillingnes to live that there is hope.
My only problem with doomsters is that all the doomsters I know slowly but surely are descending into total madness. Hence it's a path hard to choose voluntarily. Maybe Mad Max totally got this right: when the world ends, there will be only unprepared dead people and very prepared crazy people.
