India’s clean energy transition is a show-piece of India’s climate change commitments coming out of the INDCs and net-zero commitments. Articulated in the nation action plan for climate change and operationalised by various missions like the national solar mission, India’s capacity additions have been significant. Today India’s clean energy transition plan is a model for the international community. Our transparent bidding paradigm, competitive tariff, innovative government programs like development of solar parks have all contributed to a significant ramp up of RE [ Renewable Energy] capacities enabling this transition. The talk focuses on a narrative arc of clean transition – highlight our achievements, analyse what we have done right and ponder over the next steps.

Vinay is a veteran in the renewable industry and has a track record of building assets close to 3GW in Solar & Wind. He has held leadership roles in leading renewable energy platforms in India with the most recent stints being at Brookfield Asset Management & Greenko Group. He is also the founder of VARP Power and a Director on the Board of Virescent Infrastructure.

During prior stints with EPC companies in Transmission and Distribution, he has executed large-format transmission and distribution projects in India & Africa. Has experience across the Power Value chain (Generation, Transmission, and Distribution).
