Energy Minister Chris Bowen’s plan to reach net zero emissions by 2030 is a “fantasy” and “danger” to Australia, says Liberal MP Keith Pitt.
“I don’t even think they’ll even get the approvals done by then,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“We’ll have blackouts, we won’t have reliable supply, we’ll lose our coal fire generators because they simply won’t be maintained, and I think it’s a real danger for this nation.”

It's a double edged sword. On one hand we are decentralizing power generation which will counter attacks on the power grid, while on the other hand we are shifting the energy supply chain control over to China because the west currently lacks the ability to mass produce batteries and solar panels at scales required to power continents. Seems like a massive security risk that Australian energy and its expansion will be controlled by foreign powers if net zero does take hold by 2030.

We have billionaires owning large shares of energy companies with vested interests in renewables using shareholder voting to shut down coal power stations so they can profit from renewables and nobody is highlighting it or doing anything about it.
Those that voted for the shut down of Liddell have capital or contracts that will lead to a financial benefit from the shut down.
