Politicians think reaching net zero in Australia will ‘make the world climate better’

Politicians are pretending they can change the climate which is “absurd”, says Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“Even though global greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, we think that undermining that by our own economy and reaching net zero in Australia it will somehow make the world climate better,” Mr Kenny said.
“They even pretend that natural disasters won’t be as bad, there’ll be fewer floods, fewer droughts, fewer bushfires – it is irrational, it is unscientific and it’s just plain silly.”

Even australia can reach net zero emission, it will still need to import most of its manufactured goods from oversea for it to maintain its current QOL. Since Australia is a high income country, it can afford to offshore most of its carbon intensive industries. Therefore, the carbon dioxide released are simply not inside Australia but in other low-income countries.

Every country needs to reduce their GHG emissions. "Over half a trillion dollars was spent worldwide on wind and solar last year, China accounted for 55% of that." BBC. If we make steel in Australia using green hydrogen we will help to reduce China's GHG emissions.
