  1. The generation the burden of this expense falls on are much more amenable to green policy and investing in it anyway. The crusty old fossil fuel loving tory generations who would resist it will have died out anyway – a good time to fix the country and the world.

  2. In 2019 5.22 metric tons of CO2 was emitted per capita in the UK === ~348 Mega tons. Net zero? don't make me laugh. If every human being on earth ~9 billion sequestered 1 kg per day of CO2 for global emissions in 2021 it would take 14 years. Who are we kidding with this bs? The politicians just bs the people. Over and over again.

  3. Biggest con in history, about time we got to know how many people making these decisions have their fingers in the green pie…that's shares directors.
I know one thing the majority of the British public are not going to have better life…debt debt debt.
What the British are doing is pointless because nobody else gives a toss…not even 1% reduction

  4. The cost is moot. The earth is warming faster than we can survive. Large scale farming will collapse in a few years and with it civilization. Only a few cannibals will exist by the end of the century.

  5. Energy companies should be banned and illegal. Ppl should be responsible for generating their own power . If they can’t they should just learn to live the way ppl did 100 years ago … without electricity

  6. What's with the sudden U-turn and distancing from the Net Zero nonsense you Globalist puppet?

Is William and that warmonger Tony Blair still pushing for dystopian digital IDs for everyone. You controlling nasty little Globalist type.

  7. The female who said "…there'll be problems for children, if their mothers are put in jail."

Does she really think that there are no problems for children when the fathers go to jail or what? It almost sounded like she believes that motherhood allows the mitigation of criminal behavior. What kind of society does she want to live in, again?
    🙄 🤔 😶

  8. We massively subsidise fossil fuel companies through tax exemptions, allowing them to price cartel and giving grants for fossil fuel infrastructure at every level.
Capitol investment isn't really a cost because it adds value and resilience.
This notional "cost" idea is put about by people with a vested interest in nothing changing.

  9. The dependence on the fossil fuel is not pain free on several levels.
    – There is the Climate factor which is obviously the most important factor.
We can not continue to pollute the air forever, we need to address this aspect.
    – There also is the Security problem, as it seems whomever we buy Oil from is either a Dictatorship or a Terrorist State. In the Case of Iran and Syrian it's both, they're Dictatorship Terrorist States. So this is who we are financing by continuing to rely on fossil fuel.
    – In some cases such as Russia, our reliance on their fossil fuel is financing Dictatorship and Terrorism and Pollution (Nukes)

So, if we can change our reliance to clean sources of energy such as Electricity from the Sun wind Oceans, even if there is cost it's worth it. The fact is most experts say either there is no significant cost or on the long run we save money.

One important additional fact is, we will create new industries and new jobs in this process.
Sometimes change is a must, and if it pays us to change then we must do it.

  10. Why are politicians still gaslighting us into believing that clean energy is more expensive? It clearly isn't, the cheapest electricity is generated by wind, we have game changing solid state EV batteries coming onto the market which basically translates into a better, cheaper, more powerful, lower maintenance than any fossil fuel cars, in 2 years there will not be any weighing up pros and cons of electric vs fossil fuel, solid state powered EV's will simply win hands down on every tick box.
Blatant lies, that's the threat to our economy and well being.

  11. Trillions for a non existent problem. Not one of these politicians understand anything about the climate but are easily conned by Climate pseudo scientists and their broken climate models.

  12. What about the cost of ecological collapse? Who is going to suffer for that?
It's like saying my cancer treatment is very expensive, so I'll just choose to die instead.

  13. Nett zero is when emissions are equal or less than absorption. How much of its emissions does British land and water absorb? Because without knowing that absorption amount, nett zero can’t be calculated to be reached.

  14. The main reason why we use electric vehicles is because over their lifetime they are cheaper than internal combustion vehicles. Wind turbines produce electricity at up to 😂one tenth the cost of fossil fuel generation. Where is the cost? Should we not be listening to professional economists not talking heads?

  15. There is justification for "Just Stop Oil". by that I do not mean the lobby group, I mean the statement. Imagine there ARE solutions (or, at worst, we are confident we can find them) to the storage, minerals and accompanied pollution and poverty deathtrap conditions for miners in poor countries etc etc blah blah. would Oil "stop"? would big investors STOP INVESTING in oil? NO. Yet, they say they will INVEST in green technologies and carbon capture. so why wont they stop? BECAUSE THERE IS NO PROFIT (or at least, the profit is SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER) for a NON-COMMODITY than for a COMMODITY based USAGE. the sun is FREELY AVAILABLE. so, if we WANT THEM TO STOP, we will, eventually, HAVE TO STOP THEM. Indeed EVERY PLEDGE on investment even is PREDICATED on a profit margin THEY KNOW THEY CANNOT EVER ACHIEVE.

  16. Britain's CO2 output is negligible against China, we should stop ruining our nation pursuing this Net Zero folly. It is a scam along with the manufactured climate change 'industry.' We can see right through it.

  17. The government have NEVER been honest about anything??
This is all about taxing the public and business opportunities for the more established members of society.
Imagine thinking we can SAVE the planet?? With no timescale given??
We could start with getting rid of the ministers who benefit directly from said proposed policies and directives?
    Ps
Love the extra issues discussed? Shoplifting???
A custodial sentence for people who offend everyone else and labelling them under organised crime or addiction??
How much to feed a starving family? How much to send someone to jail, how much to help someone get off the breadline and… who is this childlike adult version of societies know it all who dares to speak for the vast minority in her comments???
More like an A.I version of our rich governmental push for societies opinionated child with no practical use?

  18. They are lying about the cost. Theya are lying about the reasons. Theay are lying about Climate change full stop. The whole premise is flawed and Net zero is INSANE.

  19. She says its going to more expensive if we do nothing ? ok so the trillions of pound this is going to cost will make a 20k per year. Average income is 26k per year Let me see you do the maths for that affordability . the Guy said fuel costs were higher to keep the homes warm last year, what happens if its not just more expensive but completely unaffordable. Is the deaths of the old and young going to be put at the door of the climate activates.
