  1. Slowly start to accept that we won't make it. Not only we won't be at net zero by 2050 but to dream about being in the negative is really not knowing what this crazy ape is capable and incapable of doing. It won't happen. Think about it, net zero would mean to not have a military. Do you think that since 2022 the US, England, France and China are actually planning NOT to have a military anymore? Do you know that just the Pentagon in the US emits as much as Sweden, Switzerland and Belgium together? As I said, slowly accept that we won't make it.

  2. Important to recognise that there is no left and right in politics. There is corporate control playing into media and controlling politics. The more we squabble over superficial ideologies, the less focus we have on this important topic.

  3. Your organisation is doing an awesome job – thank you.

If we want to ditch oil & gas and they are not prepared to switch to renewables then we – the people – need to ensure they go bankrupt… since gov is too addicted to oil money.

Think global, act local… we all need to do everything in our power to avoid products & services that use fossil fuels, such as
    – agriculture (start community farms)
    – transport (active mobility, e-vehicles, public transit)
    – buildings (energy efficiency & electric)
    – electricity (community energy, go electric, solar, heat pumps etc)
    – ditch plastic & other excessive packaging (paper & cardboard also unsustainable)
    – reduce waste to landfill (especially food)
    – avoid companies supporting oil & gas, or not attempting to be sustainable as much as they can
    – support initiatives that seek to shift to sustainability (many have a tough time due to a powerful anti-green everything minority)
    – get involved in community public services that seek to assist thosr in crisis (libraries, those without housing or jobs)
    – support local enviro restoration & rewilding initiatives (awa urban greening initiatives)
    – organise a local car-free event that everybody can enjoy that also supports local businesses

Shifting away from fossil fuels does require upfront inititial costs, such as solar panels & batteries, heat pumps, e-vehicles, access to fossil-free food, surviving the costs of living etc. Somehow we need to leverage enviro finance to help communities ditch oil & gas whilst striving for quality of life for all. This requires investment in new tech (costs money) & changing habits (which often is a little "painful" at first).

For example. In Tirana (Albania) parents are encouraged to plant a tree around the city on their child's birthday. Many countries are facing food security issues so perhaps "planting a tree" means help start & maintaining a school food garden so kids can get access to healthy food at school (and take some home for the family at night) or a community garden that donates produce to a local food bank.

In rural Thailand schools are the focus of the community with a community food garden and evening small business classes for adults. Parents can volunteer time in lieu of school fees.

The enviro movement needs to be ss much a community development movement as much as it is a protest movement – both are critical as the world faces an uncertain future.

  4. Climate change has always been a question of production and in whose interest that production takes place. Yet bizarrely, although XR mentions (because it cannot avoid it ) the word profit, and endlessly eludes to vested interests, it then goes on to completely ignore any scientific analysis of the 'for profit' system. In fact one can go further and state quite categorically that it bans such a debate and will delete anyone who offers such an analysis on its Youtube page.

This is a very worrying state of affairs. One could expect this sort of behaviour from a nest of climate deniers who are rabidly anti science, but how do we explain it of XR? Well the key word here is 'science', and where XR itself actually shakes hands with 'anti science'. As a predominantly middle class bourgeois protest movement, its intellectual history is bound up with the Post modernist movement that began to dominate the Universities, and which became the political logic of the radical left movement largely dominated by the Stalinist Communist Party, and Labour Party radicals, and later the Greens .

This whole political tendency has for decades now drowned out the science of society as developed by Marxism and replaced it with an anti materialist view of society based on race, gender, and identity politics, that have no scientific value as to how we understand the forces that are driving humanity to disaster.
The observable reality of the class struggle, ie opposing and irreconcilable class interests has been replaced with ''we''. A generalisation that means everything and nothing, but which implies that the trajectory of society is soley a question of ''we the people'' thinking the right thoughts. The more who do so, the more the politicians will have to listen, and then money will flow in and the problem is solved.

This political logic is more akin to a child's brain, which is why presumably it is given traction by George Monbiot and Greta Thunberg in Fridays for Futures where it is seen as 'safe as houses' as far as the ruling classes are concerned.

No fundamental change of society can take place unless there is a fundamental 'scientific' examination of society to understand 'why' despite all the science on climate change, and the 90% popular concern over it , the 'system ' continues to toboggan to catastrophe . Now, not just climate change, but the real impending threat of WW3.

And here we find another worrying development. For XR has effectively not only decoupled climate change from the class struggle , it has decoupled it from war. The climate it would appear lives in one box and war in another , the twain never to meet. And this just gets worse, because the Green Party most notably in Germany is now a party of war . Passing budgets for billions of Euros to be pumped into Ukraine and for rearming the German war machine ! Do I need to say it , billions for war that could otherwise be billions for climate change.

In short humanity faces an unprecedented crisis, where not only are ''governments failing to act '', but so to are the political parties and groups dominating ''the fight against climate change ''. Whilst all left parties including the Greens apply the capitalist tap of inertia at best , they are at their worst fermenting a catastrophe down the line . As for XR and the pseudo left , they remain mired in intellectual and political confusion , clinging to mantras that even they admit to here will be killed off for good come the next turn of the fascist screw.

Climate change has 'always ' been a question of social revolution. The necessary transformation of the global property relations of society. The replacement of competition for profit , by co operation for need. There are no reforms of the capitalist mode of production. Unless the ruling classes are overthrown by the only material force that can achieve this , the working class, then the laws of capital will merely continue to dictate to all, and onto their logical conclusion, WW3.

Let it last be said, I well expect from past experience that this reasoned post will be met with total silence here, and in all probability it will be deleted to make sure it doesn't look as if an alternative and scientific argument exists .

  5. How do you feel about big pharma medicalising castrating and mutilating young people based on the lie that humans can change sex? XR's endorsement of TQ makes no sense. Is it the sterilisation that appeals to you by way of reducing the population?

  6. pink and blue patches in white hair are not random fashion statements – they signify the ideological capture of XR – Transgenderist cult compliant. Why? I realise now the transhumanist agenda was baked in from the get-go – one of your founders, Tamsin Omond who also poisoned the Greens with 'born in the wrong body' delusions =

Nate Hagens, we could cut out all the diesel and petrol and we'd still need all the barrels of oil.
Net Zero while still producing heat is still going to increase greenhouse gases like water vapour, methane from wetlands is supposed to increase 100% on a warmer planet, methane from mining and nitrogen emissions from fertilisers which are many multiples what methane is in it's warming capabilities.

  8. For 1000's of years indigenous Australians burned off the.leaf litter every year and hunted the animals that fled, climate activists put a stop to this leading to inferno bish fires. The stupid really are liabilities, we need AI so badly and the stupid might listen knowing it's simple logic.

  9. All of the worlds population could live in Germany which is 0.06% of earth land area if it had a population density like New York. In Saudi Arabia they are building "The Line" in the middle of the desert and it's designed to inhabit 9 million people in a building 170 km long, 200 meters wide, 500 meters tall and have a population density 10 times New York at 260,000 per km2. If we build that way 9,000,000,000 could live on 0,007% of the availe land which is smaller than Denmark. Do you still think we are too many?
If we used Thorium breader reactors for energy we would have the same energy for every person on the planet as a Swedish citizens by extrating Thorium from a granite rock 260*260*260 meter somewhere on the planet. We could even get the fuel from existing reactors and use it for the next 1,000 years.
There is plenty but we are too stupid to calculate – It is utter nonsense.

  10. I appreciate and support ER's efforts. The one problem I have with this interview is that they should be using CO2e and not CO2 concentration numbers. CO2e is much more reflective of reality. Look up NOAA AGGI and you will know what I mean. Check out the column for total radiative forcing (W/m2). for each square meter of the world. This puts that nuclear bomb analogy into a clearer perspective. Right now we are above 523 CO2e. Speechless.

  11. I've been doing everything… lost weight, stopped eating farmed meat, intermittent fasting, vegan diet, recycling plastic, no transportation, just walking and cycling… and I've been doing my own research to understand Earth's History and the previous extinctions. Recently I've even been quizzing myself on the evolution of mammals … Personally, I think there are ultra-orthodox paleo conservatives in the fossil fuel industry who can't believe that climate change is real, because they think that G-d is on their side in making fossil fuel money…. and we got a bad mix of tech heads and religious providence,,, people who think everything science is political ….so what do we do? I might have to be a volunteer fireman… I struggle to figure out what is it that they believe?

  12. Extinction-Level Event

The Era of honest scientific studies is dead. It died by political grant. These paid for productions are right up there with the Salem witch climate crisis or don't fall off the earth flat earthers. You'd think being wrong 100% of the time would bring at least a pause , a question, But no……. Shame on you

Oddly the cure for what ever flavor of todays climate crisis happens to be is always the same, more taxes , wealth redistribution and liberty lost

  13. Good talk. A challenge thought. ‘We don’t have the resources to meet them [lobbyists etc] on their terms’ is maybe a choice not a fact. The ‘declaration of war’ can work both ways. We chose boundaries while the other side clearly operate unlimited. It is their willingness to step outside ‘norms’ which is winning the case, irrespective of popular citizen support for change. So what? We can complain about it til we die, or we can declare war back. Delimit tactics. Go extreme on social media bots and so on. Glue and spray paint doesn’t seem to be changing the power balance even if it’s challenging the discourse. There is no current main party political appetite in UK for adopting deliberative democracy. I write this to challenge thinking. What else, what’s next? Whatever it is must be bigger than we’re already doing.

  14. IPCC report summary: Since testing began and using the flawed model we have, humans have very little influence on climate change and any warming that occurred over the past 100 years was beneficial for the human race. Why? Because much more people died from cold than any increases in warmth and overall, increased warm 'climate' has reduced the number of deaths. Also, humans are now more capable of mitigating adverse effects of climate change and lastly, the greatest food production and prosperity occurred during the feared climate change period- this century. Plainly speaking- media and ill informed people are lying about major causes and outcomes of climate change.

Above is IPCC report summary as explained by an IPCC scientist Dr Steven Koonin, Youtube: "Hot or Not: Steven Koonin Questions Conventional Climate Science and Methodology| Uncommon Knowledge":
