  1. Why do we still have a power grid that can't detect and shut itself off partially when a line goes down? We have the tech I know personally this could be a thing.

  2. And this is why I take so much satisfaction in just knowing that "Global Climate Change" is going to take out all of you "Right Wing Global Climate Change Deniers" as well. Congratulations also to Jimmy Dore for once again exposing himself as a FAKE Progressive. Especially since Jimmy has become a "Global Climate Change" Denier himself.

  3. the point is not that climate change causes fires, but that it causes the conditions (like drought) which make fires both more likely and the effects more severe and unmanagable when they break out.

  4. The one sequence of events that can be counted on – msm will skirt around cause in favor of excuses; gullibility will swear to the guiltlessness of the system, and the remnants of discernment shall be castigated and branded conspiracists. It’s practically an oligarchical carte blanche masquerading as a democracy!

  5. That’s a false dichotomy: whatever the immediate cause, increasing heat and drought leaves areas more vulnerable to fires. Stronger winds are also an expected result of Climate Change. We’re seeing a rise in fires in many parts of the world. Every one will have some immediate cause but they’re intensity, extent and frequency depend on more. Careful not to confuse the fact that elites will take advantage of Climate Change with the reality of Climate Change. Our governments are doing nothing to actual stop GHG emissions just as they did nothing to stop COVID when it was still containable. They’re going to wait until things become catastrophic and then push multi-trillion-dollar geoengineering schemes on us. Please educate yourselves on Climate Change because it’s far worse than the government or corporate media are telling us.

  6. The fact they had the “climate change” cover story at the ready shows they intentionally did this. There may be a method to start electrical fires remotely. This is why you have trees still standing but houses, boats and cars destroyed. Trees don’t have electrical wiring.

  7. Okay guys, seriously? You do understand that dreaded climate change doesn’t personally light the wild fires, right? What happens is the extreme temperatures, high winds, and severe droughts caused by cc turns fires that could otherwise be controlled into devastating and catastrophic disasters.

The fact that energy companies’ infrastructure is degraded and dangerous is no surprise. The US is crumbling around us. So even if the fire was started because of the negligence of the energy company (and I have no reason not to believe that is true), the corporate neglect does not negate climate change, it simply makes every disaster harder to control.

Come on, you both have better critical thinking skills than your uneducated comments about the climate suggests.

  8. This is not the first time that high winds have downed power lines in the state. The reason that it caused large fires this time is due to the ongoing drought giving the fire more fuel to burn! This is the 2nd large scale drought to hit Hawaii in the 21st century and yes this is due to climate change!

  9. To prevent this problem either bury your power lines or if you have high winds AND your sensors are picking up a massive number of electrical faults you immediately DE-ENERGIZE the power lines. Dry vegetation, very high winds, AND a massive number of grid faults spell disaster.

  10. ETN News reported Hot Spots on Lahaina early 8/8, the Lahaina part of his report comes toward the end. Few months ago, hot spots appeared on La Palma, followed by widespread fires, as just were set off several days ago, again. Arsonists/globalists/pyromaniacs profit by disaster but now we see who is at the top of this food chain!
