Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says net zero has “absolutely carked it” after never taking off in any significant way.
“Lots of flowery statements and grand promises to be delivered in decades, hence conveniently, well after the politicians’ careers would have ended,” Mr Canavan told Sky News host Amanda Stoker.
“Even those countries in Europe which were the most committed to the net zero agenda themselves have walked away from it so quickly.”

Plans to reduce many forms of emissions are rife within the UK at the present time with constant talk about threats to shut down the majority of farms in Cornwall and letting the land 'rewild'. We also know about the farmers in the Netherlands being ousted from their land because of flatulence emissions from sheep and cattle. Matt Canavan is living in Lala land.

I don't think the government really cares about the environment at all – I think there are 'financial incentives' that drive them to pretend to. Life in Australia is quite easy, safe and protected compared to the rest of the world. Politicians capitalise on our appetite for self- flagellation when it comes to driving environmental dogma so the populace thinks its "doing the right thing", but the pollies are driving it for more nefarious and selfish reasons.

High level – delay and decay applies. If many radioactive isotopes have half-lives of thousand of years, a record of 50 years safe handling and storage means NOTHING !
