Do people still believe that the eletric cars are better for the environment then petrol/diesel cars. The carbon footprint of building ONE eletric car is higher than building and driving 10 petrol/diesel cars averagely for 12000 miles a year for 10 years. & not to mention the batteries in the so called economical cars are NOT recyclable & are extremly hazardous to the environment

There are people who still believe that climate change is a myth. For the rest of us it's a massive issue. If we don't set big targets and really mean it then we'll still be here next century while the world burns. It should also be obvious, to anyone with a brain, that climate change is a massive opportunity to get in front. Whole new industries are growing out of this. Do we want to be out in front or dragging our feet and allowing other nations to steal the march. This could be the biggest job creator since the invention of the 5:28 motor car.
As far as achievable goes, we need to do something before we can talk about timetables.
