  1. Another multi-millionaire who thinks he will be immune to climate change. Whilst the plebs suffer, they can jet to an area less affected, or run air-conditioning that plebs cannot afford. If food becomes more expensive it has less impact overall on their wallets.
    Nasty little man.

  2. What I think is bonkers is he is saying long-term decisions but then changing the long term decision that where made. Also he said you cant just have slogans which makes me hope for no more "stop the boats"

  3. 👑👑👑How come these three so-called "News Agents" – King Jon, Queen Emily and Baron Lewis – never engage with the public direct, but instead shield themselves behind the medium of the podcast? They so wanted to free themselves from the shackles of BBC impartiality to be able to speak their minds! But they are too self-important to converse with the riff-raff that is LBC's listenership!

  4. How can you stop someething that never existed
Parliament should hold an inquiry into what sunak just said as its completly false and is lying to mps as well as the public
Even george useless said they wernt gov policy on channel 4

  5. Probably because he has finally realised his source of cash and power are broke and cannot afford his plans. If we had been in the EU it might not have been this bad, we would have been 5…10% better off as a nation. Our markets would have not simply evaporated. We would not face tariffs to export to Europe, our nearest neighbours. Even then a huge amount of people could not have afforded to insulate homes not designed for modern insulation, or to fit inappropriate heating solutions like heat pumps to homes unsuited for them. As for buying electric cars? They are £20k overpriced for most people, and with the shortcuts in design on Chinese models, I am just waiting for one to brew up on a motorway filled with other EV's. The sight of a dozen or so ablaze would be an interesting sight.

  6. In just the past thirty years we have lost 69% of our wildlife. The planet is dying. The future is frightening – rising temperatures, rising sea levels, millions of people to be displaced, food shortages, possibly leading to even more wars etc. Politicians over this entire period have consistently sided with the fossil fuel lobbyist and have failed their current and future citizens. The ruling elite have zero interest in saving the planet and will continue to exploit it in pursuit of profit, even if that means the planet and its life forms dying out…. Direct action by those wanting to save the planet is now the only option……..

  7. Reaching net-zero earlier means we spearhead the tech industry on net-zero.
A bit of effort today to reap the benefits tomorrow.

Sunak is a rich boy, an investment banker. Doesn't know about business. Only short-term speculation.

  8. Not surprised that the cabinet paper leaked to the media. There are so many eco fanatics in government that it is paralysed by Group Think. Encouraged by the media led by Sky News which has promoted a certain line on climate change I am not surprised.

  9. Nice to see Sunak sign up to electoral suicide

Just think who has the money to buy EV's have 2nd cars and only 1 parent working and yet he's going to stiff traditional Tory middle class voters by not implementing charging infrastructure and that's ontop of RAAC and increasing their taxes for the pleasure of doing nothing

  10. I think there’s more to it than just politics. To really make net zero work, they’ll have to tax wealthier people harder, the £billions that are squirrelled away in tax havens that should be invested in our net zero ambitions is astonishing, we’ve had brexshit to stave off European legislation for the really wealthy, now they’re risking the planet to keep their £billions out of reach.

There’s got to be change, us at the bottom have NO money left to squeeze……..

  11. The only thing Sunak and his friends have had to rejoice about since he took over as PM is the fact that his party did not lose the Uxbridge seat and he believes that the Ulez scheme was the main reason that happened. So he knows that opposing policies like that are going to be popular among some Tories when he stands before them at the Party Conference in a couple of weeks time. Remember, he was not the party members first choice to succeed Johnson so now he needs something/anything to bolster his position in their eyes, or so he seems to think.

  12. They are actually drilling less, because they are getting less profit for every unit they take out. There will come a time when it's not viable for oil companies to drill for oil. That's why they are trying to make maximum profit now, hence prices not going back down to what they were. Oil isn't the problem, the fact that we won't be able to get it without exorbitant prices is the problem. We need something to replace it, but not because of CO2.
