The Australian bush fire season 2019-20 was estimated to have cost over 80 billion in property damage and economic costs. The increased dryness and temperature due to climate change causes us to be much more vulnerable to more and bigger bushfires and with us being in an el niño, its getting scary.

I recall years back when the Australian Parliament voted down a a bill – I can't recall the name now – aimed at reducing CO2 emissions because they felt it would hurt the mining industry. That's when I knew with a cold certainty that this world is screwed.
