For the last 20 years, the equatorial 9ceans have been cooling, and the warm equatorial oceans are what drives all of the ocean currents. This happens about every 22,000 years. We are due!

Like the ocean, it will self regulate. If it slows down, the arctic will get colder. The rotation of the planet has a lot to do with the current , the moon , also the Milankovitch cycles. Climate change is cyclical. Global warming and water vapor comes before co2. Oceans take in more co2 when it’s cold and releases more co2 when it heats up. Why aren’t they reporting the PH conditions of the waters in and around the White Cliffs of Dover? A lot of blame is being put on co2. How about the continuous and on going wars, rockets being shot into space, HAARP, weather manipulation, geo-engineering, sun dimming,DEW, concrete, black roofs and roads,lack of trees on sidewalks, nuclear power plant cooling stacks emitting water vapor which is more conducive to global warming than co2 or the cooling tunnels that heat up the surrounding waters whether ocean or rivers ( France had to shut down a few nuclear power plants ,in the past because of overheating their rivers) . We’ve taken a lot of forests out of the equation, plant more trees, slow down shipping in foreign products, buy local, make better vehicles that last longer,( how many miles or months do you have to travel to pay for you car?) get away from disposable products. We could turn planet earth back to paradise by being better stewards 🌳

Maybe. But I now know. We can’t believe any of you anymore.
Been listening to this nonsense nonstop since the 60’s and none of it ever comes to fruition. In the 60’s and 70’s they claimed we were on the brink of a new ice age. Then there was a hole in the ozone had to get rid of Chlorofluorocarbons only to find out there is proof that over ten of thousands of years periodically over the poles holes in the ozone would occur from natural occurrences. Then jump ahead to Al gore claim the North Pole would be ice free by 2012 yet the ice layer has grown over the past 50 years. Then there is the co2 issue. Most people believe the co2 level in the atmosphere is 15-30% yet the actual number is 0.04% up from 0.03 %. At 0.02% plants start dying off. Ice core samples from Antarctica prove that in the past before humans the co2 level was 1,000 times higher then today yet global temperatures were close to what they are today. Speaking of Antarctica over the last several decades the ice sheet has grown over the continent of Antarctica has grown by 100 feet thicker over just the last several decades! Let that sink in. Also numerous people on a particular side of the political spectrum have been caught saying the climate change they refer to isn’t really happening they are using that to transform especially the US Economy totally different from what it is in the name of progressive agenda.

As far as I can tell this paper makes not much sense, but clearly the arctic sea ice has receded as far as it gets in the summer so the amoc has no more room to grow from here, and arctic atmosphere is heating up like crazy. We should be looking at the heat trapped in the south to see how much less effective the amoc is becoming, after all the hot surface water of the amoc runs fast, it's not like we can't observe the dynamics because the deep waters run slow.

If our ice caps were melting so drastically; the increase in cold water sinking to the bottom would actually push oceanic currents harder/faster.

According to what I heard even if the amoc would start collapsing the whole process would take a hundred years. So I personally don't worry much.
