  1. A great lecture! I enjoyed his book Unsettled. The world needs to proceed very carefully on how the negative effects of climate change are dealt with. Mistakes and politically-induced missteps can be fatal.

  2. Does aluminum float?
    27 = molecular weight of aluminum
    44 = molecular weight of CO2
    18 = molecular weight of H2O
    15 = molecular weight of air

    Why not mention the "fact" that CO2 is 50% heavier than aluminum?
    Why not mention the "fact" that CO2 is more than 100% heavier than H2O?

    Why not mention the "fact" that CO2 cannot physically accumulate in the atmosphere?
    Why not mention the "fact" that the "green transition" is based on a physical impossibility?

    Less CO2 is a crime against humanity.
    More CO2 means more plants, more crustaceans, more corals, more diatoms and more food for humanity at a lower cost which means less world hunger.
    Less CO2 means less of all life at a higher cost and is a crime against humanity.

  4. Exactly how does a 2 part in 10,000 parts increase in atm CO2 concentration spread out over an approx 100 year time span constitute a "climate crisis? Is there scientific evidence that substantiates such a claim?

  5. 7:50 The main problem is that study Koonin mentions only went through 2010, and ice losses have accelerated since then. There’s been a steeper and longer lasting decline in recent decades compared with the pre-World War II period he mentioned. The overall trend is that losses have been more sustained and deeper than during this pre-WWII period.

    The latest report card for the Greenland ice sheet from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (https://arctic.noaa.gov/Report-Card/Report-Card-2020/ArtMID/7975/ArticleID/901/Greenland-Ice-Sheet) said that in 2012 and 2019, the ice sheet saw its greatest losses since regular monitoring began in the 1950s. In 2012, it shed about 464 gigatons, and in 2019, it lost about 532 gigatons.

    Following a period of relative stability from the 1970s to early 1990s, the ice sheet began losing ice at an accelerating rate and has now experienced annual net ice loss every year since 1998. Experts agree that a period of warmer temperatures caused a large loss of ice in the 1930s. But the most recent data shows a period of steeper and longer lasting declines in the Greenland ice sheet between 2010 and 2020 than in the period 80 years ago.

    There is uncertainty in the data, but Koonin’s numbers are incomplete and obscure the scale of recent ice losses.

    Koonin is misrepresenting the data.

  6. Ask Koonin to give the year of Earth's warmest Jan, Feb… Dec. Every right wing shill has been proven wrong each and every decade. Hoover Institute? Almost as bad as Heartland.

  7. Of course you get a blue propaganda bar because you tell the truth. Only the weather channel and YouTube are allowed to tell us about climate change, and even though they are proven wrong, we have to swallow their lies. F YT.
