  1. We in the west are more accustomed to wildfires but nonetheless it was a record breaking year for us by a long shot in terms of area burnt.

Our previous record was 13540 square kilometers burned (2018), this year we burned about 25000 square kilometers. Nearly doubling our previous record.

  2. Easy solution everyone is missing. Just cut down all the trees and there won't be any wild fires. Also think of all the new logging jobs that would be created. Good idea to help the economy. Sure a few less trees might hurt the environment, but that's what the rain forest is for. We should put stricter restrictions on those forests. I can't really deal with another summer of wild fire smoke.

  3. MOST of these fires are HUMAN caused. The term "wildfire" lost its true definition over the last 50 years.
Would fire were at one point natural combustion of SUPER dry materials under hot and humidless conditions. NOW these fires ARE HUMAN CAUSED. Facts. We humans SUCK.😢

  4. I live in Oregon, I fought wild fire for about 11 years. I could have told you this ten+ years ago. The problem is… human beings don't listen because of capitalism and neo liberal hegemony. So, now we sleep in this bed instead of some hospitable one. But we all kind of knew this, deep down inside.

  5. Moreso shitty logging practices, less climate change. Logging companies leave too much debris on the ground, leading to added fuel for regularly occurring wildfires.
