Sky News host Rita Panahi says the Albanese government’s “obsession” with achieving net zero emissions is putting “enormous pressure” on households.
Ms Panahi sympathised with mortgage holders who have seen their repayments almost double.
“I think we are starting to see that mortgage stress now – people have perhaps absorbed that, dipped into their savings, but at some point, the pain is really going to hit,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray.
The Sky News host hit out at the government for having no plans to improve the situation for homeowners.
“If anything, we are going to see energy costs continue to rise as they go down this net zero obsession,” she said.

We are in the midst of a housing crisis and mortgage repayments are higher due to increased interest rates. Most welfare recipients RENT! When welfare goes up so do rents and food prices. There is no better off for anyone except for the wealthy under Albo! His climate policies are too expensive, will take too long to implement and are ideological, not realistic! Try this maths, each can of carbonated soft drink is equivalent to a car driving 1.4 kilometers, 2022 the world produced 280 billion aluminum cans, that's equivalent to 392 billion driven kilometers. the average car drives 12,000km per year. that gives 392,000,000,000/12000 = 32,666,667 average cars worth of CO2 per year just in alumium cans worth of soft drink, then there is bottles of various sizes, lets add BEER and sparkling wine to the equation.
